Treated like a criminal
Last Saturday (3.12.20160, I went to Bunnings in Midland to buy some sticky fly baits. It comes in a 9 pack box. I picked one up, when to pay at the check-out. When I was about to leave the shop, the woman body-guard, stopped me and asked to see the receipt. I asked her why I was being checked while she just ignored the other customers that went past. I told her every time I shop at Bunnings, I was being checked for my purchase and even one of the checkers went through my handbag. I felt like I was being treated like a criminal. I've been shopping at Bunnings for years and most of the staff know me. I made a complaint to the acting Manager and I was told that I carried a large handbag. That was the reason I was being checked.

Garden Centre
I usually love visiting the garden section of any Bunnings stores. Buy more than I need as usually the displays are colourful and brimming with stock. But when I went to the Ballarat store last week, it was a cimplete mess!!! No stock, shelves empty, plants dying, wilting, they desperately needed a watering. Left with nothing. Going to Warrnambool I decided to visit Bunnings there. Again stock low, plants dying and desperately needed watering. Soil it pots bone dry (I checked). What is happening? I would have thought the garden centres were one of the main earners for this company. I do hope you look into this.

Bunnings Cessnock nsw
I am very disappointed with Bunnings at Cessnock.I rang yesterday afternoon looking for a 139.00 Christmas lights projector.I was told they had one left and my name was put on it and it was behind the counter for me to pick up today.I was very happy because it was the only one left in all the Bunnings stores in my area..It took me about 45minutes to drive there and then I was told they couldn't find it.I was very unhappy and asked to see a manager who was not helpful at all and just told me it was gone and that was it.Well I'm sorry that it not good enough..

Special deal
I received an email asking if I was interested in entering a promotion with some specials offered to the winner. I followed the prompts and much to my horror I received my phone bill today with a charge of $97.69 for my participation in Bunnings promotional game. What a rort - either you take down this 'competition' or start refunding phone charges!!!!

Cheap, nasty Chinese products and staff attitudes
Over the years that I have been going to bunnings I have been met with disconcerned abnoxious staff and products that are either a wrong fit or don't work. Today was the last straw.
To buy a simple product like new tap set and still not be able to get it right is just beyond me. Due to the issues that I have previously had at bunnings I bought the old tap set with me so there wouldn't be any confusion but when given the new set by a staff member I could clearly see that it was too short when I compared it to my own.
When I showed this to the 'plumbing expert' I was told that it would work and fit right in. Once again I took it home and once again it did not fit! Going to Bunningings is the most frustrating experience I have ever had and the lack of knowledge of its staff is laughable.
The cheap prices of bunninings is not worth having to deal with its cheap products and having to return 2-3 times to get the right product. Pathetic.

Bunnings
Went to Bunnings Morley to purchase a outdoor setting for 1500.00 but waited in that section for 15 minutes and still couldn't get served. When I asked one of the staff getting their lunch what I should do and they said put a complaint in. What amazes me is that we are heading into summer and this is the premium time to purchase outdoor products. If I want a 99c bucket , no problem, want to buy a 1500.00 outdoor setting good luck. Imangine how many more sales you would do if you a person in that section all through summer. If I ran my business like this , I wouldn't have one. What a shame Masters is going , now what competition do you have, back to the old no service Bunnings

Fobbed off by employee
Went to Bunnings to buy a small fan I could bolt to the wall or out of the way for our caravan.
They had a few there , but none were working . I had one in mind , a small one claiming to have a good air flow.
I asked a worker for a power point so I could test it out. He directed me to the "special orders " desk. So I walked over and asked the lady there and she rudely blurted out ......" no you can't test it because it hasn't been tested and tagged by an electrician ". I then replied ..... " do I have to buy it , take it home and try it , and return it for another and keep doing that until I get one I like " she rudely replied " yes " like an arrogant pig she was.
Does that mean they sell electrical items that have not passed any standards when entering the country ?
Anyhow , I left and went somewhere else.
2 days later , we had to return a broken item we bought and there was a huge industrial fan near the checkouts blowing air on customers as well as the same lady at the "special orders desk" next to the checkouts. I had to have a look and found it was not tested and tagged. I was going to approach her and cause a scene , but my wife stopped me. I wish I had now.
I sent a complaint to head office , but have not had a reply and wonder if I ever will.

Gas bottle swap
We went to Bunnings this morning to swap an empty gas bottle for a full one. We went into the garden section to ask the staff member how to go about changing the bottle over for a filled bottle and she said they won't be doing them today as they are too busy. Um how long does it take to swap a bottle over. There were bottles locked in the cages that were only a couple of metres away and in full sight of the staff member. In the garden section there was a customer being served and one waiting with 2 staff members there. Maybe I am wrong but I thought weekends would be a popular time for bbqs etc so bottles would be ready to go. We left without buying the new pots and a few pot plants as well and got our bottle refilled 5 minutes later at BCF.

Very disappointed that the 500ml sample paint pots and being deleted. The 250ml does not give you the coverage to see the colour properly, therefore you end up having to buy 2 costing the public more money..!! On a positive note the staff at the Mindarie store in WA are so friendly and helpful..

Bad Employee Attitudes and Service.
Wednesday 6/10/16
I went to Bunnings Belmont WA today to buy some materials for a bricklaying job I am doing. I went to the area to get what I wanted and the pallet was empty. Looking around I saw what I wanted up in the racks which needed a forklift to get it down to replenish the stock on ground level. Now it was common "Brickies Grey" 20kg bags , which is needed all the time. Bad store management had seen the pallet become empty. The attitude of the staff who I asked to organise to get the pallet of cement down was deplorable.. One no-hoper I asked to get a forklift to get it down , was too much trouble for him to seek one.. I walked away. Bloody hopeless I thought, how do you employ such drongos. I then thought of another option somewhere else when I saw a joker on a forklift coming into the warehouse with empty pallets on his forks. He was not looking too involved not to help me. I ask another one of your no-hopers if that forklift driver could get that pallet down from the racks ."Oh ,he is busy" was his reply. Oh yeah ,doesn't look too busy to me .( The forklift driver was joking around with some other employee) I said ," Alright ,don't worry about what the customer wants , it seems to much trouble to serve them". Someone with some common sense must have overheard and stepped in to get that forklift driver to get the pallet down so I could what I wanted. Now every time I go to Belmont ,the service is always useless. Plenty of staff walking around doing bugger all , people who look like a hardware workplace should be the last place they should be employed at. Bunnings should employ diligent human beings .who have a sense of what they do , know what they are doing.. I have had a gutful of bunnings and will be going elsewhere. Of course , you lot wouldn't careless.,

No Customer Service
I'd say 10% of staff here are incompetant, bone lazy and arrogant, they need to be taught about smiling and great customer service is all that is needed to customers back, you walk past a staff member looking for a smile, but no they look arrogantly away or look down on the floor, Oh well not much i can do about it, perhaps when they have team meetings the big wig bosses should perhaps get off there asses and teach them a lesson or two or otherwise show them the door.

useless staff
My husband was in there today firstly he bought a bunch of gyprock about $600 worth and then he went to hire a ute to get it home. The woman who did the paper work with him took 20 mins to process the paperwork he had an hour to use the car and she put the time down at the begining of the paper work which ate into the car hire time 20 minutes worth. My husband questioned this as it was already 10 past 1 when she initally wrote down 1pm and she said it was too late she couldnt change it. He then had to load up the gyprock sheets on his own with no help from numerous amounts of staff walking past watching him struggle. We had about 10 mins to get the sheets home and unloaded to get the ute back in time. We will never shop here again this store is an absolute joke. Porters have such better helpful customer service very disapointed we even spent a dollar there today. I will make sure everyone else is aware of this also.

unhelpful staff
I was at the paint section twice today in both times it was obvious I was looking for something. There were three staff members talking to each other, laughing and discussing everday life and the second time I went up and asked them where a particular item was and instead of taking me to where I could locate it they just pointed. I think it very slack and feel that now Masters are closing that Bunning customer care has lapsed. I was even in the plant section and the woman there was too interested in going on her break than helping me.

Incompetent staff
Recently I purchased plywood panels and wanted them cut to size at Wagga Bunnings.
I gave them my size cut list. When I went to pick up my items I found the young man had not cut the panels to size stated. When I pointed this out he walked away left me standing to pay for the items. I found this very rude he didn't even try to rectify his mistake. I paid to have this timber cut to my measurements not his and I will be spreading the word don't have timber cut at Bunnings where incompetent employees can not do their job.

Bunnings. Innocent customers treated like criminals
We had an unsavoury experience and Bunnings this afternoon. I've since lodged this comp, ain't.
I wish to make a complaint about a really unpleasant experience we had in your Bayswater store this Sunday afternoon. Firstly I'd like to note that I've been a Bunnings customer for years. And because of my work, buy endless products at your stores.
However today at around 4.45, we experienced being treated in a manner that really upset us. And as a result, feel we are unlikely to shop with you again.
My partner purchased a pair of $100 work boots the other day which turned out to be a little to large. So we came in to swap them over for a more suitable pair. Whilst he was trying on different sizes, we noticed an employee acting very busy quite near us, not doing anything productive but very obviously watching my husband and myself. Whilst we were in the workbook isle, I myself decided to purchase a new pair of boots because they were on sale for a great price.
So my husband and I were trying on different sizes and brands and discussing which were more comfortable ect. My husband then went to the counter and left me in the isle where I continued to find a suitable pair of boots. Having found the pair I had mostly decided to buy, I left my bag at the boot section and went for a walk in them (up and down the isle) to make sure they were comfortable.
It was then that the employee who had been very obviously watching us like a hawk approached me. He said "Can you please take off the boots and not wear them in the store. People will think that you are steeling them". I was shocked and explained we were buying shoes and wished to buy the correct size so we didn't have to come back (again).
My husband returned. I went and paid for my boots immediately even though we had more shopping to do. Purely because of this employees comment.
My husband selected a more appropriate size and we set off to look for the other items we had come for. But we were followed, and watched to the point that we were made to feel so uncomfortable, we just decided to leave.
My husband and I are probably two of the more honest people you will ever meet. And I believe we were singled out in spite of doing absolutely nothing wrong, because of our appearance. My husband has long hair and I have dreadlocks. We are hippies, not criminals.
Now this 'gentleman', clearly profiling and discriminating against us. Treated us in a way that was actually quite hurtful. In his mind, we were thieves. And he watched and followed and treated us as such. At first my husband and I found it a little funny. However that soon turned into us feeling uncomfortable and absolutely offered. Upon leaving the store. Each with out 'paid for' expensive boots, we became angry.
Because we had done absolutely nothing wrong. We were on our way out for my mums birthday dinner, and frankly, it upset us and ruined the rest of our afternoon.
In hindsight, I should have confronted and spoken with him directly. As we were leaving we could see him checking all the boots boxes. He was convinced we were stealing, and treated us like thieves.
It's the first time I've ever experienced such a thing in any shop.
I didn't look at his name badge. But he was a short middle aged gentleman with brown balding hair and a short brown beard. Sunday afternoon at your Bayswater store.
The experience has left a nasty taste in our mouths. We left your store with our feelings 'hurt'. Because we were judged by our appearance and treated terribly. This feeling stayed with us all throughout our evening and we decided to notify you. For what it's worth.
We've been customers of yours for years. We spend a lot in your store. But the treatment we received today will most likely result in us seeking another hardware store from which to purchase all of our work related supplies.
Yours Sincerely
X

Innocent customers, treated like criminals
We had a terrible experience at Bunnings this afternoon. I've since registered this complaint.

Sharp objects protruding from carpet done by Bunnings north parramatta
My elderly retired parents decided to get their upstairs re carpeted by Bunnings north parramatta as they saw information in store and the price was cheap. They had someone come out to quote them , after he left dad was sent an email with the total cost and a breakdown of what each item cost . They were surprised at the added cost which was not discussed by the sales guy, this was for pulling up the carpet and moving the furniture in and out , this significantly increased the cost so they decided to to that part themselves and just paid for the carpet to be laid. This Monday 23.5.16 the men came to lay the carpet , on arrival they told dad that he can't have any furniture in the room , dad asked why couldn't he move the furniture from one side of the room to the other while they carpeted and they told him he couldn't and needed to move the furniture downstairs . Dad called Bunnings and they said it would cost $150 for the guys to move the furniture, dad thought he had no choice so agreed to pay this, only to find out the guys didn't move the furniture downstairs they just moved it from one side of the room to the other, like what dad offered to do. After they finished dad noticed that the unpainted area of the skirting board was showing , meaning he would now have to paint this , his understanding was the carpet would be the same thickness as the old carpet so this should not have happened . Once the guys left mum and dad both started to feel pricks on the bottom of their feet when walking on the new carpet, especially on the stairs ,dad realized the spikes that they put under the carpet to stop it from moving around was poking through the carpet . Dad called Bunnings and was advised they would send the guys round the next day to fix it . The next day mum waited at home all day for them and no one showed up , they spoke with Bunnings again who said the guys will be round the next morning (Wednesday). The guys turned up early , hammered the spikes on the stairs ( approx 10mins) and went to leave, when my dad asked what about the rest of the house , the guy said he was just a contractor and was given instructions to just fix the stairs so that's all he was doing, and he left . Dad call Bunnings again and complained about the experience , she said she would send someone different to assess the situation , no one has turned up . My children are cared for by my parents in their home 3+ days a week . Today I got pricked/ scratched while walking down their stairs . See picture attached . I'm glad it was me , not my 4 year old or 1 year old as the damage would have been worse . If this is not escalated within Bunnings we will be going to the ACCC as this is a dangerous product that can cause significant injury and what needs to happen is their carpet needs to be relayed correctly as this is not how carpet is supposed to be !

Special Order
I'm a fairly patient man, but this is getting a bit crazy. Eight (8) weeks ago I decided to purchase a double glazed sliding door - Bunnings had a product in a catalog on display in store listed at $1550. I informed the special orders counter that I would like to purchase the product. I was told that they would first need to secure me an up to date quote from the manufacturer. I left my details and was contacted four days later, to be told the door would cost $1800 for part one (the door), and $500 for each of part two and part three (a product number was given but no description of what the mystery parts might be). The caller could not tell me what part two or three were, and reluctantly undertook to again liaise with the supplier to seek further information regarding the additional parts. After receiving no return call for another week, I approached the desk in store, who told me that I would have to order the product on line, print out the order and bring it into the store. I did this the next day and presented it at the counter. They could still not register the order in the system, and needed to contact the store twice over the coming week (both times I had to visit the store in person to press the issue) to finally work out how to register the order, and take my $1950 for the door. The delivery time was expected at 7-10 working days. After two weeks I wrote to the special orders desk requesting an update only to be told that the door had still not been dispatched - possibly due to a delay over ANZAC Day. Over a week later, special orders contacted me again to tell me that the door had still not been dispatched and that it would probably be another two weeks. It has now been another two weeks since the last email (about eight weeks since I initially tried to order the door) and my patience is wearing a bit thin.

Poor cashier service
Walked up to an empty checkout. Don't believe in using automated ones as it does more Australians out of a job. Anyway, I put my items on the counter, some woman walks in and they exchange hellos, etc. The woman walks through the entry and queues behind me. The young checkout girl then tells me that she is going to serve the other woman first.
I picked up the things, took a few steps back and thought, I'm not going to still buy things here after being treated like that. Items down, and walked out.

Bunnings Hire Service
On 11 May 2016 I booked an Electric Tile Saw for 4 hours. This arrangement was noted in the "register" at the Tools Desk. The hire period was to commence at noon today 12 May. When I arrived today to collect the saw I was advised by the person at the Tools Desk that he had hired out the saw to another customer earlier in the day and that it wouldn't be returned until Saturday. He had not checked the "register" to see if the item was already reserved. At that point he was unable to even locate the "register" in the work area. Having just driven 28.9 km from Kureelpa I was somewhat pissed off by this cavalier approach to customer service. I have been a Bunnings customer for several years and have spent several thousand dollars at various Bunnings Stores. Lift your game people!

No delivery of purchase
I purchased a number of made to order blinds for my newly renorvated bathrooms from my local Bunnings store in Underwood Qld, on the 8/3/16 and was told that they would only take a few weeks for the order to be delivered.I paid the total amount owing in full at time of purchase and have been waiting for delivery of said blinds ever since. I have contacted the store on a number of occasions over the past 7 weeks to try and get an ETA on the blinds and have been told by the staff on the first occasion that the blinds were still within the delivery date. The next time I contacted the store I was told that they would be available for pick up at the end of the week. The next time I contacted the store I was told that someone from the manufactures had contacted my wife and explained everything to her, only they hadn't contacted her. The next time I contacted the store I was told they would be ready for pick up today. No such luck. Today is the 23/4/16 and still no blinds and I have 2 bathrooms without window coverings. Bunnings don't seem to have any idea of what is going on with my order and for all I know blinds may never arrive. Someone from Bunnings needs to make some noise and find out what the hell is going on with my order. I could have had them delivered by another manufacture twice over by now.
