I had only worked there at the store for one month ,it was so overwhelming,the mess. the lack of leadership and management. we had three managers,one key holder and and two regular associates. With hardly no training and direction coming in different ways, I worked really hard and took my job to heart, they brought me in the office and accused me off coming up short {stealing) and i did not even do the register at night. they would hand me the drawer at 150.00 to open. My daughter fell at the Dollar General and trip on rugs that were in the isle on the floor, we filed an incident report and he doctor said to bring her in that day to be seen and I did. She had a 6 inch gash on her side, I was contacted by Lisa White from claims management and she asked if I would email her the pictures I took, I did she never responded so I emailed her again and she responded back " I find it hard to believe she didn't see them on the floor"...no sympathy, no apology whatsoever, I am furious I emailed her back for her supervisor information and told her under no circumstances in my 7 yr old responsible for the rugs on your company floor or the fact that she fell and was hurt! try to hold her back but could not do it she came after me anyway well thought everything was clear so I went to clean up my work space after doing October cut-ins for y'all I will need the camera film for that day to give my lawyer she was not fired or anything done to her and she had a box cutter on my neck

The stores in our area are so trashy it's unreal. Instead of see how many stores you can build on every corner try give each store the hours they need to run the stores correctly and that allows each employee to take pride in their store. I work for a retail store and is a competition for DG but I used to like going to DG and shop but I hate going now because they are so trashy and trip hazards at every step. I know this is a corporate thing because allotment of hours. Please DG go back to being the good stores you used to back.

Hey I am complaining about the store I have shop at where I live in Montgomery Alabama on 4949 Mobile hwy., on yesterday August 13th,2017, on a Sunday morning, me and my husband was shopping and we had the items that we was about to purchased and when we was standing in line, a little boy was in front of us with a buggie and my husband ask the boy was he in line and was he with a lady who was in front of the little boy and then all of a sudden an adult older male came and was being smart about the little boy was with him and me and my husband didn't know and the line was long and then another employee had open up register number 2 and when me and my husband was trying to go to register number 2, thats when the ole man was trying to fight me and I was trying to ignore him and the employee had seen all that but he still banned me because I call the police and he did not banned this other customer who started this mess over about somebody was trying to break in line and I was being respectful as I can and can I sue this employee?

Went to the store wrote out check to Dollar General Store. The cashier took the check and got my information off it and got a 190.00 dollars worth of things from a shoe store.. I got my bank statement and on it had the check I wrote to the Dollar General Store was the same check to the shoe store I never went to... Call the bank had to do all type of paper work...😬😬😬😬😢😢😢

I was in the local Dollar General a few days ago and boight baby wipr, water and a pack of lighter. Today (about 3 days later) a pplice officer came to my house saying The Dollar General was pressing charges for stealing a lighter. I am beyond frustrated because I did not steal a lighter I bought a pack along with the baby wipe and water. I asked the police officer if I could see the video they said they had of this, and was told I could see it in court. First of all I picked up the pack of lighters to buy as I was checking out, so this is when Im guessing the employee said I was stealing. So why was I not questioned or detained right then and there? I cannot believe this! I frequent thos store 3-5 times amd week amd have never had any problems like this! I will be calling Corporate!

i was called in to offfice and told that they have proof i was stealing from the store while on the clock i was told that i needed to write a statement and i also had to write a statement agreeing to pay back 3200 in merchandise at which i haave never stole anything and i have all receipts to prove that i paid for everything and because the cashier was the one doing it i got fired and also the cashier is still there

Ok I pretty much had a cart full of items i was buying .... 3 12packs of soda , a gallon water and two different types of baby whip packets (not sure which one i was going to buy) well after i was done walking around and shopping i went back to the baby isle put one whip packet back... I had my 2yr son in the cart with me and my husband was walking around also... My husband ran outside for me to get our already open pack of whips that where in my sons baby bag in our car... Somehow the rude employees and management thought the whips my husband brought in where whipes that we where trying to steal... Because after i was done whipping my sons sticky hands (from his lollipop) i put our USED (about 1/4th of the bag used) open bag of whipes in my purse.... The ran up on us screaming whats in your purse OPEN YOUR BAG!!! I was frozen in shock and my 2yr son was scared.... I told them to look at the cameras closer these are our whipes!!!! The cops were not called but they took my only bag of whipes that where ours and i had about 20-30$ of stuff i was gonna buy .... I was so embarrassed i guess they figured not to call the cops because they where our whips I DONT KNOW..... At this point my husband was being rude to them and i just wanted to cry ... They told us

I have a friend who went to the DG in Sodus,NY to purchase a pack of chew. He has bought chew from this store at different times, now on a particular day when the manager was on duty, my friend went down to buy his chew and showed the manager his ID, which was a State Correctional ID when name, age and photo on it. The manager told him , he could not accept his ID. My question is: What's the difference? The Id have his picture, his DOB. The manager then proceeded to joke about the (CONVICT) as he called him while talking to the PEPSI DELIVERY GUY. REALLY PEOPLE!!! I HOPE YOU NEVER GET DOWN AND OUT!!!!

I had left Dollar General and got pulled over by the police, they walked up to my car door and told me to get out and asked where are the dvds you stole from Dollar General? I looked at them ( meaning five cop cars with seven police officers) and said I did not steal any dvds you can search my car. They said the woman working there saw me take dvds and put them in my purse. I said no no no, I was looking at the dvds but did not buy any of them, I just spent sixty dollars in that store why would I steal five dollar dvds. I told them to go back to the store and look because the dvds were still in the store and not on me. Two officers went back to the store why four of them waited with me in cuffs may I add. The two officers came back to where I was pulled over and said your under arrest for stealing dvds we saw the camera footage. They did not search my car, only my purse and they lied because if you saw the footage then you would see I didn't stick anything in my purse. They took me to the police station and called me a shoplifter and all kinds of names mistreating me. After they said I'm being charged with shoplifting I read the paper/ticket they gave me and it says I stole five dvds, three pair of socks and a pack of medicine which I did not. I don't believe anyone looked at video footage, the worker just assumed I stole because I was looking at the dvds and didn't purchase any. I am so appalled and embarrassed that I have to go to court for this. Can I sue? Can I ask for the footage from that day? I want the two workers fired from their minimum wage job.

I am complaining about the Dollar General Store #07151 located at 824 State Street, Erie, Pa. I understand policies, I work with a company in which I review policies. I was embarrassed and insulted by your cashier on Tuesday Oct. 06, 2015at about 5:15 pm. I attempted to present my ID, my driver's license, to show my age to buy a pack of cigarettes. No problem. I am a 63 year old grandmother. HOWEVER, I was refused the right to make the purchase. Enough is Enough. Your Cashier #3948 on cash drawer #3 stated that because I gave my grand-daughter my money while I got my ID from my purse that now she couldn't sell me cigarettes because my grand-daughter has my money, and she's just doing her job. I'm sure I am not the only customer who feels that your employees are not policemen. I feel so strong about this matter that I will never buy anything from your store again. Furthermore, you should not sell any product that you feel should be illegal. Also, a week before, I was told that your store does not sell cigarettes after 8:00. You have no sign anywhere that is posted about these "rules" pertaining to buying cigarettes.
I pray that many of your customers will read this, and feel the same way and will stand up for principles that are fair and ban this store.

I went into Dollar General with my mom, and left her to go look around. I saw the movies, and grabbed a five dollar one, then went back to looking. I later decided I didn't want the movie, and returned it to it's place. I grabbed another, walked around, then put it back once again changing my mind. I didn't think anything of it, since at stores you should be allowed to change your mind and grab anything you want to buy. I walked around a little more, and kept noticing an employee walking by me over and over. I grabbed a few items I wanted and put them in my mom's buggy. We went to check out, and suddenly at our turn a gunned officer said step out of line. I looked around and said, me? He said in a very aggressive tone, yes you. He said an employee saw me steal something, a movie. I handed over my purse without him even asking and he opened it, checking it. Once nothing was in there they took me to the back, questioning me on each and every movie I grabbed. Him and an employee went back, and he told me to go back to my mom. There was a police officer guarding the door, and one that stood near us. No employee talked to us. I have social anxiety disorder, so me going into the store was already abit nerve wracking. I was nearly crying, but scared if I did they would immediately arrest me or something. They came back out and said well there is nothing we can do, and the police gave a half apology. Then they watched us, like we were criminals, like the rest of the employees, as we left. When my dad called up later the employee who saw me do this, was one behind a camera. He just said he saw me walk down one isle with a movie, and the next isle the movie was gone. I can't even go into a store anymore without being scared to touch anything, and I feel depressed and have more anxiety when going places then ever. They were very rude even finding I was innocent, and we hid nothing. Yet they acted like I was a criminal while we left. Wish I could sue for potential extra panic attacks and counseling.

As I was sitting in line with 2 other ppl ahead of me, cashier was talking to person in line bad mouthing another manager. There where other ppl behind me as well. When it came to my turn finally 15 min later, I said you should not bad mouth other employees while on clock while everyone can hear and left. As I was leaving cashier was laughing. I took wife to work and came back to talk to manager. Now he comes out to talk. First thing he said "I was doing a return for someone at time" where I was waiting. Now I didn't see him as he did not come out to do the return like he said. Then he stated I should have left and went to diff store. As he was calling police on me at same time..... I was a lil loud in store but after the fact both cashier and manager started to get loud with me first telling me to leave when all I wanted was a supervisors number. Finally cashier told me there number on receipt for corp. num when it was just a survey. What good is that, I want number

This crazy rude cashier accused me of stealing. She says I took a bag of my personal info into the store. Then opened packages stuffed the merchandise into my purse and put the empty packages into this bag with my personal info. Then I left the bag in the store. I am not talking about a bag with a grocery list and my name. This is a bag with my ss information and my childrens grades. I have to go to court over this. Noone in their right mind would shoplift like that. Its crazy. Why can they not figure this out???

Everytime I go to Dollar General, West 38th & Washington Erie, Pa. the line is long, & it seems they open 2nd line when I am almost to front. Instead of taking the next person, They say: can I help someone. That someone is always the last one in the line, & they make it over to line 2, faster than anyone. When I complained, the cashier told me if I did not like it, leave! Are you kidding me? I will never go there again, ever! This flunky jerk had nerve, & you guys let her work there! I know nobody cares, but I had to say something anyway! This was 3/4 weeks ago!
