Same exact thing just happened to me. Traveled to Italy in August. Returned August 31 and all checked out with Hertz car. Full tank, no damage, all checked out. We paid all appropriate tolls while there. Now, 3 months later there are 2 charges, a week apart for $34 and change for Hertz Italia Spa. I called my credit card company and having them disputed.
Truly despicable behavior on the part of this company. We actually had so many problems with them while booking our car. Stay away from them. Please continue to write about any resolutions to this.

Unauthorized Charge
I have the same issue as several of the above mentioned: recently October 2018 - €30.5 was deducted from my Visa, without explanation or warning - 3 months after the car rental July '18. If the above litany of complaints is any indication, and it is - Hertz Italiana SPA (Tiburtina) is running an ongoing SCAM, deducting unauthorized monies from clients months after the rental was complete and the vehicle returned - in our case: with a full tank of gas and inspected and signed off as without defects - This is very disturbing and unfortunate, as we were very happy with all our dealings with Hertz Italiana SPA Tiburtina and would have used their services in the future.
A MOST DISTURBING FACT FOR CONSIDERATION BY VISITORS INTENDING TO RENT A VEHICLE IN ITALY.

Same thing with us. We visited from USA and rented a car that we returned in Rome. 5 months later...similar charge. luckily my Credit Card company obliged with disputing the charge but someone needs to do something about this company and this shady practice. Hertz has a good reputation here but i'll think twice about using them again.

I have been charged approximately 30 euros for something by Hertz Italia, I have not received any notification as to what these charges are for, espescially since my car rental was 4 months ago. Please email me with specific details.

Unauthorized credit card payment
I rented a car from Hertz in Genoa on June 1st 2018 and returned the car on June 29th 2018 to the same location that I rented it from. I paid for the car rental with my Visa card and was told that everything was fine. My reservation # was H55719437C9 .
On September 26th 2018 an unauthorized charge of $47.69 Canadian was charged to my card, I have not received any notification as to what this charge was for either by an email or letter or Phone even though I gave all this information to the Hertz representative in Genoa, and when I made my reservation on Line. I see that this over billing has been going on for a number of years judging by your complaints pageS. I am requesting that Hertz repay me the $47.69 that they have charged me until they can document what the charges were for and if these charges are valid I would be happy to pay these charges.
Please email me the documentary evidence.

Unauthorized Credit card charge
I rented a car from Hertz at Genoa Airport reservation # H55719437C9 on June 1st 2018 and returned the car to the Genoa Airport on June 29th 2018 I was told every thing was fine. On September 26 2018 Hertz Italiana Spa has charged me $47.69 Canadian about 30 euros on my visa credit card without ant notification as to what the charges were for. I will be instructing my bank to reverse this charge
unless Hertz responds with an explanation

Unauthorized charge
After returning the car with a full tank and being told that I don't need to pay anything else I get a charge on my credit card:

WTF! Shame on you guys for your shady activities. It seems as though there are a lot more people that are getting scammed like myself.

I would like to know why you have charged 31.0 EUROS without my knowledge, after the rental was totally paid and has passed more than 4 months since the booking in Italy on the 9/4/2018 under the name IOANNIS BARDIS. This is unacceptable I am not at all satisfied with this behavior and I am waiting for your company to explain the reason for this charge.

BOGUS CHARGE
I was charged a fee of 30,5€ with no explanation two weeks after i delivered the car, which was inspected and signed off on. There is no grounds for this charge and if I hadn't checked my credit card I would never have known as Hertz never sent me an email. This is effectively an attempted scam, and should be dealt with by Hertz management immediately.

Payment after 4 months

I returned the hire car with full tank, and no damages. I have since received a charge of 61 Euro with no explanation, which is half the cost of the entire rental.
I will speak to my credit card provider to have the charge reversed. So not sure how you prevent this from occurring??

On the 4 may 19:45u i made a reservation for a rental car. Reservation nr: H6564185525 Thrifty
On arrival in fiumicino airport at the HERTZ desk i got some information about the own risk in case of theft or damage.
We decided not to take the car.
The employee at the desk gave my creditcard back after he made some comments because he didn't know how to cancel the reservation.
At home i noticed that a amount of 862 euro was reserved on my creditcard.
Please unblock this amount from my creditcard.
I didn't hire the car i cancelled the reservation!

We hired a car from Hertz Bologna in December last year and the car was returned as agreed at Florence AP. The rental fee was paid in full amount by MASTERCARD in December 2017. No further payments were demanded.
Nevertheless you charged our credit card two times with additional payment of 30,50 EUR. on 07.02.2017 and on 14.03.2017.
Please, explain us the reason of these charges.

Unauthorized charge
My husband and I rented and paid in full a car from Hertz in Rome and returned it in Florence in Nov 2017, Hertz examined it and signed off that everything was in order etc. Now today, April 2018 I get a charge of $38.24 from Hertz Italina SPA with no explanation or reasoning. We did very little driving while in Italy, we mostly took the train and I'm quite certain there were no violations incurred. I'm disputing this charge with my CC. Unable to get Hertz on the phone for an explanation and received no communication from them otherwise as for reasoning for the charge. Never again would I rent from this company because this appears to be an ongoing problem.

Unauthorized Charge
I'll add my experience with Hertz S.P.A Roma to the long list of complaints. I rented a car in Naples and returned it to Hertz at Rome airport on Sep 23, 2017. I recently found an unauthorized charge of EUR 30.50 on my credit card. My bank has asked Hertz to provide documentation to support the charge and in the meantime, I contacted them also.
Apparently I was caught (on camera) speeding near the airport minutes before I returned the car. Hertz was notified by the local authorities and they in turn provided the police with details of the person renting the car. Hertz in turn invoices the customer EUR 30.50 administration fee for providing renter details to the local police. I have been advised by Hertz that the speeding ticket will be mailed to me by the Italian Police within 12 months of the infraction.
I have requested Hertz to provide me with a copy of their communication with the local authorities to substantiate the charge. They are claiming this is internal documentation that they cannot provide. Based on their response, I consider the charge unjustified and have asked my CC company to reverse the charge

I am complaining same as most of people wrote here. I rented a car in early October last year but my card was charged 30.50 euros on February 23 nearly 5 months after I returned a car. I was told by the staff when I was renting, I fully paid. What is this extra charge and why did you charge me 5 months after without any explanation?

I rented a car from Hertz October last year and I paid full as per staff when I rented but on February 23, my VISA card was charged 30.50 euros, nearly 5 months after I returned a car. Could you explain what this is and why did you charge extras 5 month after?
