Roomster
I have wasted SO much of my time and energy tonight just TRYING to get Roomster to work. First of all, I cant find the posting that people keep sending me. I would click on the link, it would ask me to Re-loggin through Facebook, I would, and then it would just bring up random postings, not the one for the link. Then, I spent time trying to re-message the people who i was contacting, only to get the SAME exact message. Finally, I googled to figure out what I was doing wrong only to figure out its a scam. Luckily thanks to the other reviews, I didn't spend the money. I think bc it's linking through Facebook they are very happy with getting all of that information. I went into Facebook and had it delete that app from my account and then actually deleted Roomster. I'm REALLY upset, bc some of the posts that I replied to sounded really awesome and I actually wanted to live with those people. Screw you Roomster for getting my hopes up and WASTING my time!!!! I'm convinced its all fake. And, if you scroll down here you can see that they clearly have people in foreign countries making up positive posts.

Don't use Roomster
I signed up for roomster as an option to find a room. I paid the fee for 5 days. I just learned today that they deducted for the next month. I tried to call and there was a message saying I must go to the web site. I finally found how to ask for a refund. I was willing to pay for 5 days but not aware that they would just deduct a fee. I' very unhappy with this company and didn't get anything better than what is on craigslist.net

Roomster.com SCAM
BEWARE OF THIS SCAM. You'll waste hours of your time, give out your personal information (especially if you link from Facebook, they want ALL your information), and if you're really desperate, probably also pay money to be scammed.
There are literally hundreds of reviews now on the web about Roomster. This is how it works: they put up ads on Craigslist advertising rooms with gorgeous pictures, good roommates, low price, etc. Basically whatever possible to get you to give your contact number.
When you do, you'll get an autotext along the lines of "Room still available" or "I am the owner" and a link to get you to sign up for Roomster, with instructions that they will contact you after you sign up.
Once you sign up and give away all your personal information via Facebook, you get alerts that people have messaged you. But wait! You have to pay to view your messages. Now at this point there should be huge red flags waving around you if you haven't noticed that a) you're getting multiple text messages with the exact same Roomster signup b) you're needlessly agreeing to give away tons of your information and c) why would ANYONE pay for a service that obviously is free on many other websites?
But no, the desperate will sign up fro the 3 day $5 trial and then find out that it autorenews for 3-5x the price before they probably think to Google and find review after review telling you about this exact same scam.
It is beyond comprehension why companies like this can even still exist. I've found descriptions of the Roomster scam from 2011. It's 2016 now and they appear to be hitting the LA craigslist hard, after having gone through NY, Chicago, Denver, and other cities. Just take a look at all the reviews.
They also paid someone to leave fake 5 star reviews on some sites, in order to try to bury the massive numbers of 1 star reviews they got.

Worst decision I've ever made
So I made the huge mistake to purchase a 3 day trial since every single listing I found was aending me to this app. I was NEVER able to see a single listing that I was interested in. The links would always send me to the app saying that I needed to log in even tho I was already logged in! After logging in- again- i was never able to see the listing I wanted. I missed on so many good Apts because of this stupid app so I gave up and found a place on my own. And a few days later I see a charge of $45.95 on my account. I'm diaputing that and if you don't want to have a headache and have unauthorized charges on your account please DO NOT use this app ever!!!

Monik
I just noticed that they charged my account and I also only signed up for the 3-day trial
They abuse of the new customers you paid for 3 days and then they renewal for a month.
If you want just 3 days you paid for 3, no more.
That is not legal.

Scammers, Liars and Shills!!!
The majority of positive reviews are most likely connected to the company. Craigslist over-run by fake ads for rooms to rent that don't exist placed by agents of this company. You text to a number for information about the room and they text back a link directing you to sign-up for roomster.com. Total scam all the way around. No ifs ands or buts about it. Just search around on the internet, there are stories everywhere on how much this company uses deceptive and dishonest practices to trick people into subscribing to their bogus service.

I have to say ROOMSTER was a very pleasant experience
My girlfriend and I used Roomster to find a room to rent short term while we were on vacation and I have to say it was a very pleasant experience. Much better than booking overpriced hotel and so many options at different budgets.

I found a roommate in 5 days
Super! I found a roommate in 5 days in SF which is pretty impressive. I did pay and canceled no problem. They have made improvements to their past issues. I will use Roomster.com again and will recommend Roomster to my friends. Wish the service worked better on the mobile devices though.

Roomster has lots of rooms in New York. I found a noticeable room in NY. My room contains great conditions as I need. Its so comfortable to stay. There has a nice playground in front of my room. I just like it. I took this from many of rooms in Roomster. It's not a complaint it's my satisfaction, I think there has many better rooms than my one. ha ha.
