Wasted 4 hrs. this morning talking to sears reps. No wonder Sears is going under, I have been a Sears customer for 45 years and I will NEVER EVER buy a Sears product again.........

HESITANT BUT DID IT BECAUSE SEARS CUSTOMER SERVICE SAID FOOD WILL BE REIMBURSED ONCE TECH EVALUATES THAT IT WAS INDEED COMPRESSOR FAILURE. CALLED SEARS THEY SAID WE WILL SEND SEARS TECH FOR 149 TRIP CHARGE NOT INCLUDING LABOR HE CAN BE OUT 9/14/20. A MONTH? NOT ACCEPTABLE. THIS REP SAID FOOD IS NOT REIUMBURSED. SEARS IS AWFUL!!!!! DON'T BUY KENMORE OR ANYTHING FROM SEARS. I HAD TO PURCHASE ANOTHER REFRIGERATOR AFTER ONLY 4 YEARS. Bought Kenmore fridge March 2016 quit cooling August 2020. lg compressor flb075lana. Talked with local repairman said bad compressor. No one will do this job worried won't be paid by Sears. Sears 3rd party service live could not find a repairman. Called sears again they said we will send sears tech wasn't given that option first call directly to Service Live for 340.00 pre authorization on credit card. Sears tech come out for 149 trip fee not including labor. Food reimbursement not covered in contrast to first call to sears. Sear tech be out 9/14/20..one month without a refrigerator. I need a refrigerator so I had to buy another fridge. You bet it was not Kenmore or through Sears this time. I will never buy Kenmore appliances again or anything through Sears. Kenmore and Sears are not what they used to be. Sad as I always bought kenmore my kitchen is full of kenmore but that won't be the replacement brand when the stove, dishwasher and microwave die.

After 3.75 years of working, the unit stopped cooling. We had a local repair guy come by to assess. He diagnosed a bad circuit board and recommended replacement of board and HVC (high-voltage capacitor). His bill was $390 parts and labor. That seemed to work a day or tow until it was noted that the compressor wasn't cooling adequately (ice cream not frozen, main compartment not cold). He came back, free of charge, ran through diagnostics and said compressor (LG) was bad. He could not work on closed refrigerant system (didn't want to get a $10K fine for this) and we contacted Sears A/E. My wife was on phone for one hour to get someone out to fix from Sears. The compressor was under warranty, but labor not.This replacement cost us $419 for labor for $139 to come out and additional for two hours diagnosis and replacement of compressor. He spent the whole time he was at our house trying to get us to buy a $46 per month service plan. She called me at work and we told him "no." The refrigerator never got cold at all after he left. We contacted Sears again, it took another week (we are up to almost three weeks of no refrigerator for a unit that originally cost $2500 or so) for someone to come out and check again. This time, the different tech chased down a problem with air not going through condensor/coiling coils, replaced that, and now we have the unit working again. Unbelievably, there was no charge to us for this last visit since it was a return call.

Overall we spent $800 out of pocket for repairs of a $2500 refrigerator 3.75 years old. That doesn't count spoiled food, including ice cream. The various repair people all told us that LG has a horrible reputation for refrigerators. I will NEVER buy another LG product, if I can help it. I understand that there is a class action lawsuit and will be looking into seeing if that will help me recover time/expenses/food. Also, if we had been paying $46 per month for 44 months, we would have paid $2024 in fees for repair contract. That's even worse than the $800 and lost food. I understand that utility company service contract from local sources often are far less costly.

Purchased Kenmore Elite Side by Side in NOV 2017, model # 795.5186 (white); manufactured by LG. Ice maker replaced in NOV 2018 just within warranty. AUG 2020 compressor abruptly dies; waited 7 days for Sears tech to assess; compressor part under warranty, but labor will be $604.71 (includes the $129 diagnostic fee) and not available for the repair appointment for 20 days. It is unacceptable to have a major appliance fail in 30 months use; and to have service delays.

I bought my Kenmore Elite from Sears for 18 months and I was not cool because the bad compressor. Even though the parts were still under warranty, I still had to pay for the labor 452.44 dollars for replace the fail compressor.

Kenmore Pro, counter depth, French door 795 series. Bought it in December 2016 @ $2700. Fridge died in July 2020. Took about 10 days to get a service tech to show up.......with an 8-5 window. Initially tried to charge me for Parts and labor, had to politely remind him of the 5yr closed cooling / 10 yr compressor warranty. Still ended up costing me $430 for labor, of that $119 was the "Diagnostic" fee, which consisted of him measuring the temp of the fridge. Only positive is that because these compressors have been failing at such a high rate (tech mentioned that he had already replaced 7 in July) they are keeping them on the service truck. So we were able to get it replaced with only one service visit.

At this point, I will never buy another appliance from Sears, or Kenmore.

Pretty sure he knew what was wrong before he walked in the house. The only bright side, because these compressors are failing at such a high rate (tech mentioned he had replaced 7 already in July), they keep them on the truck, so he was able to repair same day.

Bought Kenmore Elite refrigerator model 795.74023.411 on 1/8/2016 for $2599.99 on 6/4/2020 it stopped cooling. Sears refuses to honor warranty because we had someone else look at it first who told us the compressor is bad. When Sears repair (actually A&E Factory Service) came out they did nothing but tell us they could and would not do anything to help because we had someone else work on the frig and it voided our warranty .NO WHERE in the written warranty does it say you can only use their repair company to work on their appliances. Furthermore after doing research this 795 series obviously has defective compressors. This the worst customer service I've ever seen. I have purchased many Kenmore appliances in the past and NEVER have they failed to work in such a ridiculously short amount of time. The warranty on the compressor is 10 years you would expect it to last at least that long. Extremely upset and frustrated. Will NEVER purchase ANYTHING from Sears ever again they are a horrible company that does not stand behind their products.

I purchased this Elite Refrid. January 2018. two weeks (6/8/2020) it stopped cooling, both refrid (55degree) and freezer (45 degrees).
Not good at all had to mover everything to extra refrid we have. Repair guy came out. ordered parts, which took 10 days to get. Came out replaced one part, did not change anything. second part was not right one. Bottom line, still not cooling, has to go back and study service manual, not good. Waiting to find out details. I have never had a refrid. give me any problems in a short time. First ever Kenmore (LG) would never buy either one of their products again. Will keep you p[osted. Haven't paid any Labor yet (not covered of course)

I have to say I am more than disappointed with your product. I had all G.E appliances and had so many problems with them, that I changed them all out to Kenmore. Sept 2016, I purchased a dishwasher. Service call to put in was 4 months later (I had some construction going on). It seemed beautiful, quiet, and really cleaned the dished until about a year later, it cleaned less and wasn't really sure if it was working properly. It continued to get worse and I called SEARS to service it with the protection plan I purchased. I was told it was the sum motor and would be over $500 to fix. The service man said "do you hear this sound, it sounds like it’s trying to start (like a swishy sound), and I said "yes, it always sounded that way". He said it could have been a defect. In getting ready to contract it to be fixed, SEARS argues there was no plan; however it states it on my receipt (Dishwasher Order #--------) Sears Protection Agreement (purchased separately)

Just like all the stories before, we have a Kenmore Elite (made by LG) model 795.51863.611, purchase in 5/2018 and now the compressor is bad. I had a repair man out and I he said that even though the part will be covered (10 yr part warranty) the labor will not be and on average will be around $750. How is it justifiable to pay that amount of $$ for a 2 year old refrigerator but the other option is to trash it, so sad and pathetic. I will never but anything from Sears ever again and I will be sure to tell anyone who listens what a piece of garbage the appliances are and how horrible Sears customer service is, they have been no help! This isn't right and I hoping they get sued big time.

Purchased a Kenmore "French" 3-door fridge Model 795-73157.610 Nov 2016 $2,400! Jun 2020 it quit working!!! Sears says they will honor Warrant and provide Linear Compressor part but no labor or compensation for lost food. Repair tech said labor would be over ~$1,400 to $1,600............. I see other Kenmore similar model have a recall but not for our model that ahs exact same problem. Any ideas on what our next step should be.........???

My $2200 refrigerators compressor failed after just 2 1/2 years. What a piece of junk. I am reading about the class action law suit over defective linear compressors. Can anyone explain why there is a not a recall and replacement action with a non defective compressor? Seems like the right thing to do. The Sears repairman just talked me into throwing out my fridge and buying a new one. He had a compressor to put in but let me know it was $1014. to install. So just spent another $2000 for a new replacement including the 3 year warranty.
This is outrageous and so disappointing to know that these warranties on original compressors are covered for one year. And that this is more common based on the class action.

These are American companies? I spend my money trying to buy quality items from America. I would be happy to spend a little more for an appliance that will last.

Wires come out from the bottom of the refrigerator into the door to provide power and control to the ice maker. The wires stress every time the door is opened and closed. It is only a question of time until they break. It is unrepairable. The solution is to buy a new door which cost almost as much as the refrigerator did new. Bad design and bad company for not standing behind it. There is a reason Sears is bankrupt.

We purchased the Master Protection Agreement for 3 years for an additional fee of $379.99. I believe the Sears' representatives push for this since they know these LG refrigerators are junk.

The compressor went bad on 2-25-19 and couldn't get it serviced until 3-13-19. I'm not sure why they think you can go without a refrigerator for this length of time and not lose all of your food in your refrigerator and freezer. If they don't have enough service technicians in the area, they need to hire more so they can service appliances in a more timely manner.

It wasn't even 2 months later and the compressor went bad again. Same story again. We had to wait a couple weeks for the service technician to show up to determine that it was the compressor again, then we had to wait 2 more weeks for the part to arrive. When the service technician replaced the compressor and condenser coil, he stated that they are junk and it probably won't last long. This is really comforting to hear when you spend all of this money on a refrigerator that Sears claims is great but they definitely don't stand behind their products. The technician also stated that the noise that it was making was something that he couldn't fix. We would just have to live with it.

Once again, it starts with the ice maker not working and then the freezer is warmer than the refrigerator side. Now, it's 3-30-20 with the coronavirus pandemic happening and of course, the warranty has run out. It is 4-10-20 and the service technician just showed up this morning to inform us that it's most likely the compressor AND the condenser coil again. To replace these parts, it was going to cost us at least $500 and they only warranty the parts for 90 days but that does not include labor charges. I can't believe it! This refrigerator is only a little over 3 years old and we had to replace the compressor on it 3 times. They are absolutely junk and I don't recommend that anyone buys an LG (Kenmore Elite) refrigerator.

Ordered whole kitchen set of appliances. This refrigerator was part of the package. The unit was delivered April 2016. Installed June 2016. April 2018 the compressor and another part went bad. Cost me just under $700 from sears service to repair. However, come to find out there was a defect in the aluminum refrigerent line. The unit failed January 2020. The hole in the line was in the foam packing of the refrigerator. Not repairable. I had to buy a new refrigerator in less then four years of installation. Sears would not make any concession for their inferior quality product. If you are smart, do not buy a LG or Kenmore, or Kenmore Elite product. By the way the microwave failed out of this package as well. It had to be replaced at my full cast as well.

It's been 1 month since the compressor failed, replaced and revisited twice by the sear repair and still not fixed. They agreed to outside repair and I'm not sure I want this fridge still.

Linear LG compressor silently died after 4 years of work (Jul 2015 - Aug 2019) during 3 weeks absence from home. The food spoilage was so bad (refrigerator kept running defrost cycles heating the insides) I had to throw the whole unit away.

ADVICE: Buy ~$20 wireless thermometer with alarm on Amazon and have your security camera to pickup the alarm sound. You can then ask your family/friends to unload the fridge and prevent the expensive damage.

Shopped around and bought exactly the same fridge due to excellent design and internal volume. The newer model still has LG compressor that will die but starting from Nov 2019 a new Panasonic compressor is used that should be more reliable.

Same story as all the rest, purchased Dec 11th, 2016. Stopped cooling May 2018. We did not buy the extended service plan since we never needed one before with Kenmore products. Had to wait several weeks for the initial visit for the repairman to show up to say the compressor had failed. Repairman ordered a new compressor but was not sure how long it would take to arrive at our house since there seemed to be a shortage (now I know why) and couldn't make a an appointment to have it installed until it arrived. Waited about 4 weeks to have it installed and now Oct 1, 2019 we have a $2500 paperweight in the dining room that Sears will not stand behind. Called around and it seems nobody wants to work on LG brands, yes this might say Kenmore on the door but its an LG, due to the linear compressor that in it. I got the same run around from Sears that everyone else is getting. Hopefully others will read these post before buying a Sears product or an LG product.
