Regarding: SLS.
Original Home Equity ($80,000) with E-Trade, filed CH 13 Bankruptcy 5/2009, E-Trade "charged-off" loan on 5/28/2009, added over $5,200+ of unexplained interest, fees, charge-off fees, held the loan, applied all Trustee payments (5+ years...) to principal. No one at E-Trade would speak to me until I received a "ledger" of payment history, after endless back and forth, finally receive "ledger" call E-Trade. I am told they no longer hold the loan, cannot and will not answer any concerns, transferred to, SLS (how convenient....) to take concerns to them, only thing she would say, verbally nothing in writing, loan would be 0% going forward with the new servicer. I demanded, insisted, nothing, that was all she would say. Fast forward to SLS, several reps confirm 0%, any concerns regarding fees, interest etc., asked to put in writing, five statements show 0% with proper balance. Sent certified letters which they deny receiving, then yes they did receive, will escalate, cannot comment etc,..... Last 3 statements: Balance is now $2,000+ more than previous statements due to "reversed fees...", 5% interest rate, $20,000+ (yeah- $20,000 due immediately AND past due as of 10/2010 (we were in Bankruptcy 2009-2015) After having a near heart attack, reps say, "Don't worry..." but they will not, cannot, do not know what to tell me, will look into it. No answers, just more and more run around - Ashley will call repeatedly, nice, but cannot give any answers. Have filed complaints with the State of Colorado, CFPB surprisingly they deny receiving anything, after 3rd enforcement letter, a reply - They cannot comment on prior servicer's transactions, cite BK Trustee as how payments were applied. Spoke to Trustee, not true, a claim is filed, accepted by Judge/Trustee, payments are sent, how they are disbursed is NOT dictated by Judge/Trustee. Spoke to our BK Attorney - loan was not to be charged-off, case would be reopened by BK Judge. That brings on a whole set of other concerns, E-Trade no longer holds this, we never received 1099's for interest applied in 2009, ($5,200+...) can't amend tax returns, too long ago.
Is everyone aware that SLS is a "Collection Company" -- not a bank!!

There is a Class Action against these fools- regarding the mishandling of Loan Modifications filed by Tycko & Zavareei LLP in October, 2016; I believe another lawsuit is in order given the vast mishandling's of this so-called company.

Escrow Account Errors

Specialized Loan Servicing must be terminated as a business entity. All of their personnel are totally incompetent, belligerent and ignorant. Every transaction with these ass hats is completely flubbed. Even when you lead them, step-by-step, to resolving their own ham handed errors, all they can do is transfer you to some other "Special Ed" Loan Servicing dip stick who presumes that the customer is always wrong. There is no justification for the waste of oxygen by Toby Wells, CEO of SLS, and the army of borg automatons who answer his phones and screw with people. Complaining to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is a complete waste of time. All the CFPB will do is have their letter-writing robots correspond with SLS' letter writing robots and cc: the consumer. SLS is stupid as hell and should not be allowed to play with other peoples' money. Drown them all!

Find My Missing Monthly Payment

We had a third party company that wired a payment on our behalf, (5/2)! Thou, they have contacted the 3rd party company and were told the payment has been cashed, SLS are unable to locate the payment. We are willing to file a class action lawsuit against this mortgage company. Please email me at [email protected]!

Service

Guaranteed Rate Mortgage sold my loan to CMC/SLS at the end of February 2017. Since that time I have not been able to access my mortgage account to make a payment or check balances. I have spent literally hours on the phone with them and it is still not resolved. This is a huge investment and I am very afraid of what is happening since i cannot even see it. I am going to sell the house just to get away from them and I will lose over $10,000, but I am about to have a nervous breakdown. How is this company in business? How can we get away from them? Lawsuit?

I have had this company for 3 months and they keep adding stupid fees for no reason. ocwen had a class action law suit they sent my loan to sls, sls says it a second mortage not true! I have been fighting with this company for years, I was told they wont accept my payments by there high risk dept and not to send any of them in they keep sending
me modification packages I keep sending them back in and they say they don't receive them!! this is the worst company ever, ocwen was dirty they lost in the class action lawsuit but somehow transferred bogus loan amounts to sls, I was included in the class action lawsuit,got a whole $1.00 from it but now im stuck with sls.

SLS slow and no status updates

We've been attempting to get our loan with SLS permanently modified since the Fall of 2016. We had to restart the process around Christmas 2016. It's now mid-March 2017 and we still don't have any straight answers. Every couple of days, we receive between 2-3 mailings that are identical mentioning material that may be asked for at some point, but no specifics. When we have a current bank statement or pay stubs we always send those in, but we are receiving no updates, no status reports, no phone calls, no trial period for a modification, no help. When we do call in, we need to allow 45-75 minutes to talk to a living person and when we do connect sometimes the call is cut short and then we have to start the process again. Is anyone getting anywhere with SLS? We aren't. Thanks.

Specialized Loan Servicing

SLS has the worse customer service. I have been battling with SLS for over 5 years since BOA sold the loan to SLS after changing the loan from a variable rate to a fix. BOA said I would receive information from SLS and I will be making the payments to them.
I called SLS and they said they are reviewing the information from BOA and would confirm the monthly payment. I never received anything and called again and was told it was denied and we need to continue monthly payments with the variable rate and it is interest only. In 2016, I got a notification there will be a payment adjustment and a portion would be applied to the loan and the rest will be interest. I have called again to ask why it is still variable and not a fix rate and was told I need to reapply again and they will make a decision once all the paperwork is submitted. This is really frustrating and ask to be included in any class action suit.

Scam artists

SLS IS EVIL AND MUST BE STOPPED

I can't even begin to explain, and I'm still researching because I only became involved in the review of our finances in recent years, but in very short form, we have paid thousands and thousands on a loan that was transferred from BOA to SLS, and our balance has stayed the same for ten years. I would like someone to contact me to further discuss a class action suit or any other actions being taken against SLS in the state of NY as we would love the opportunity to file against these scumbags. Can anyone involved in a class action filing provide additional information/contacts here? If not, please email me at [email protected]. I have the time, energy, and hatred for this company to contribute in any way that I can.

WHY HASN'T ANYONE STOPPED THEM? And how was BOA allowed to get away with dumping all of these loans to such an immoral, horrible, unethical snakes who are too CROOKED to run a treadmill, much less a corporation???

SLS has been calling everyday. They are messing with my credit report.

SLS calls me every day. They call my home and cell phone at least once a day. They claim that I owe them money. My house was financed by Country Wide, Country Wide sold my loan to B of A. I have court doc's From the state of Oregon for Complaint of deed of trust Foreclosure. This has been ongoing since March of 2012.

SLS is claiming that they are also trying to collect on this debt. They have no interest in this loan. They are a debt collection service that has been trying to capitalize on my unfortunate situation. I have tried to talk to them, work with them and even ignore time but they continue to call and harass me. They are even reporting to the credit bureau and damaging my credit. I need to find a way to make them stop. I no longer live in the house. I left the house in March of 2012 and am only dealing with the Bank of New York Mellon FKA ( plaintiff ) for Bank of American . Why do I have to keep dealing with these leaches?

SLS denied receiving 2 months of payments even though my bank provided documentation showing they did.

I would like to know if there has been a Class Action Lawsuit against Specialized Loan Servicing (SLS) and if so, I would like to join the lawsuit. My complaints, in the short timeframe of service, are numerous and documented with the Florida AG's office.

Bad Loan Modification

My loan was sold to SLS from GMAC. It was during the financial crisis. Lost job for over a year and applied tor a Modification. I was approved but come to find out that I am still paying negative on the loan because I am paying all interest on this loan. I have been paying for over 6 years just on since Mod with paying every two months which gives me extra payments a year and hardly put a dent in the loan.... Paid almost 10 years on this and still about the same balance. Up until just recently , I have never gotten any statements, contact or anything it was just like every 2 week someone was taking money out of my account with never telling me what was going on with it, or how they were using my money.

Incorrect charges and other problems

After SLS obtained my mortgage loan, I began making monthly payments to SLS beginning with my February 2015 payment. I started having problems with SLS related to incorrect charges almost immediately. Beginning in April 2015, I made excess payments (to be applied to the principal) each month in order to pay off my loan sooner. I called SLS to have all excess applied to principal. This went smoothly at first, but my July 2015 payment was processed wrong (as all to be applied to principal and none to interest), resulting in an “accrued late charge” of $50.82 on my 8/11/2015 statement. I called and had this removed and again asked that in the future that my principle and interest would be credited from my payment each month, but that all excess would go to principal.

From this point on, I continued to have problems with incorrect charges appearing on my account. In September 2015 I paid off the balance I owed, $3,013.71. From that point on, SLS continued to bill me with late charges. (And also claiming I still owed my monthly payment every month, accumulating these with penalties when I did not pay). Every time I called to straighten out this matter, the representatives gave me the run around, saying they couldn’t help me but they would send me a new payoff statement. Meanwhile, the late charges accumulated.

Finally, in February I paid off my payoff amount shown on the statement (before the statement expired) including faulty penalties of over $150, intending to straighten out the matter later, possibly with legal help. Nevertheless, even paying off this amount would not appease SLS, they continue to bill me with more charges.

The SLS billing statement appears to have two columns that conflict. In the right column (Explanation of amount due), my regular monthly payment continues to accumulate even though I paid it off in September! One representative explained that this was incorrect (I knew that) and that I only had to pay the amount due on the (separate) payoff statement, which was under $200. Another representative said I owed the higher amount. Whenever I talk to a representative they claim they “don’t know” what my payoff amount actually is, but that they will send it to me in a separate statement. This is either fraud or extreme ignorance! How many people must be paying whatever they are told without examining their prior statements and payments.

Specialized Loan Servicing

Received a letter from SLS stating that I was in violation of the terms of my loan because my hazard insurance wasn't enough. Had previously been with United Wholesale Mortgage and they had sold my loan to SLS. I contacted my insurance company, USAA who verified that my insurance amount was more than adequate to cover for any damage to my home. They warned me that some insurance companies try to force borrowers to take out more insurance than the home is worth to cover the mortgage amount and that in the state of Virginia there is a law against overinsurance requirements. Sure enough, when I finally got through to a representative at SLS (after a more than 45 minute wait on hold) they tried to tell me that my hazard insurance wasn't enough to cover the loan amount at which point I told them exactly what USAA had told me and asked them to call USAA immediately.

Frankly, not really thrilled with this new loan servicer. May end up having to refinance just so I can get away from them. Who ever heard of a mortgage company that uses Western Union to process mortgage payments and charges an additional fee for online payments or phone payments. Just a ripoff. I have been with other mortgage companies including Wells Fargo, Bank of America and United Wholesale. Never have I dealt with such a shady organization.

SLS Class Action Suit

My husband was with B of A back in 2010 during the economic and housing crash/crisis. He was laid off for over six months and we nearly lost everything. As a result, he filed Ch. 13 Bankruptcy to save our home. Fast forward to 2015. B of A either sold or "hired" Specialized Loan Servicing, LLC to "service" our mortgage. Bankruptcy case came to an end in September 2015, we had resolved all our financial responsibilities outside of our mortgage, and were more than caught up on our mortgage. In fact, when SLS filed their final accounting/mortgage payment change, in September 2015, they attached several exhibits, one of which was a copy of an Escrow Refund check that was made out to my husband for over $3200. We've made our mortgage payment early since coming out of bankruptcy in September, and pay more than the regular payment schedule each month. November and December pass, no escrow check shows up. In January, we get our 1098 Mortgage interest statement for tax purposes and there's several details on the top of the page. One of the details states that they "refunded" the escrow amount to us - WHICH THEY DID NOT DO. So now, they've not only told the Bankruptcy court that they've sent up money, but have now informed the IRS that they've sent us money. I finally called and was told a "ticket" had to be prepared to review the account. Call back in 5 to 7 business days. I waited almost 2 weeks and called back. I was told the "wrong ticket" was prepared and a new one had to be submitted. Low and behold, we receive a 2-page "Monthly Payment Notice" about a week later. They're showing our higher than normal payments as "partial payments", and then what do I see? They've put the escrow check on our payment schedule and have also labeled it as a "partial payment." Did it reduce our principle balance by $3200+? NO. In fact, an annual accounting sent to the bankruptcy court in 2013 shows that our mortgage is only $1700 less today than it was in November of 2013. If I can find a way to be the filer, I will gladly do so.

This exactly the same that happened to us, SLS never record the 3 months of payments i made. Instead they sent me a NOD letter saying that i was 3 months behind on my mortgage i have the copy of my bank statement that showing they already took the money from my bank. This is ridiculous and I have no idea why government permitted them to do this. i want to join the class action lawsuit .

SLS- trying to collect on a Lien they don't hold

In 2015 we attempted to purchase my parents home, only to learn there were liens on the property. We agreed to assume their mortgage and proceed in the fashion, my mom gave us the SLS information I was "added" to the account and away we went. Until we learned that SLS was collecting the mortgage on alien in another company's name and charging fees, late fees, foreclosure fees and more without provocation or regard for the loan. Please include us!
