Delay of UIF payment
Good day
I have been trying to claim my UIF since the beginning of September through the U-Filing system.
I have faxed and emailed my UI-19 form 3 times. Then I was told I needed to obtain a UI-19 from previous employers even though I cannot claim for that persio as it goes back more than 48 months. I got an affidavid from the police station as one of the companies closed down and I contact the one and got the necessary forms. The latter was a temp agency and I was working for them on and off for 3 months. Never the less, I sent theough all the documentation and have sionce sent it twice because the call centre do not seem to have the information. Now, I have sent it a third time. I am not sure what the delay is as I cannot claim for the period I worked at the temp agency as it is older than 48 months.
It is coming up to 2 months and I have bills to pay. UIF has alway been deucted fromk my salary but when you need the benefits you are given the runaround.
I am at the end of my tether. I am willing to take this further if this is not resolved soon.
Thank you

how long must we wait!!!!
Good morning I applied on the 3 September 2014 and was requested to get a form filled in and returned the next day! They needed the UI19 and was e mailed on the 4 Sep to them!( They in formed me today it was only loaded into the system on the 20 Oct 2014) I was given a form to sign and went back on the 9 Oct and was informed the money would be in, in 5 to 7 working days. I am still waiting and phoning the call center number they are rude and put the phone down! We need to buy nappies and pay like water and light but they don't care!! Where is the helpfulness , the care and compassion! We need to stand together and make a big issue out of this !

Delayed UIF payments
Labour dept has recently implemented a new system which they promised it will make UIF application stress free and decrees chances of fraud in south Africa The system is a mess and it is not helping the citizens at all . Labour dept is aware of the problem but they are not doing anything about it cause they spent millions of rand implementing something which they can not accent its a failure. what will happen to the poor citizens who are awaiting their payments for months now ? Is the government turning the blind eye on its people ? We are talking about poor people who are unemployed and they need their hard earned money to be released . What s the minister doing about this issue, the newspapers and radios stations have covered the issue with a hope that things will be sorted out.Why are we suffering because of few people who committed fraud ? coming to think of t its your staff members who are fraudsters and now the whole country has to suffer because of that. That is not fair. The president has to intervene

Delayed UIF Payments! Department of Labor
Good day
I’m sure that I’m not the only one who have been complaining about the delay in maternity payments from the Department of Labor. This has been an ongoing event since you above published article.
I am one of the victims who are still struggling with my claim submitted the 1st of August 2014. I made use of an Agency who wishes to stay anonymous but are willing to supply me with her customer names and contact details who are also fed up waiting and struggling. The Agency supplies the services for assistance in completing all the necessary documentation and submitting it on your behalf.
The agency submitted my documents on the 01/08/2014 I have attached the copy of the receipt. I have been following up with them every week since then according to the system notes I have an outstanding UI19 form from my employer! I followed up with the agency who advised that this form was submitted with all my other documentation but the problem is that the new implementation of the virtual system/UFilling system is that they have to manually capture these forms in order to process payment and they have a huge backlog.
In an interview done on 702 (link provided below) with Teboho the COO of the Labor department dated 25/09/2014.
http://702.co.za/articles/227/uif-to-deal-with-backlog
Nowhere here is there any comments or assurance given that the backlogs will be promptly attended to, only that they are working on the virtual system/UFilling system to get it in working order. So what about our payments?
After another few weeks of struggling from my side and the Agency’s side the Agency advised that the capturing of these documents have been stopped! Now if they don’t capture the backlog of documents on the system what will be the next step? This remains a question till date. The Lady helping me in the Agency contacted MR. Teboho in email explaining her dilemma and he directed her to the following lady.
Maschanche Molefe Assistant Director: Operations ( Mail dated 15/10/2014)
The above lady assured the Agency that she will assist with the information as to why we have not received payments. The agency supplied her with a list of all the August submissions and until date I’m still struggling with this.
I’m already back at work and had to borrow money for the time being to help me financially. I now have to pay back the loan with my salary and I still have a hole in my pocket that was supposed to be filled with this money! I was suppose to receive my first payment in August and my second payment in September but now I guess I will be receiving a lump sum if I ever receive my money. The worst part is that we as employees all over SA promptly pay our UIF on a monthly basis and there is no delay what so ever but when it comes to claiming they have a list of excuses. Even the submission of the documentation is a hassle and after weeks of complaining of not receiving your money you will eventually be advised that the documentation was either lost or incomplete.
13 Weeks down the line I’m fed up with begging, emailing and phoning for assistance. This is my money that I’m begging for? Why?
I even phoned today again and once again my details was taken without any help further the only response was that someone will contact me in the following 2 days.
I sincerely hope to hear from you soon!

UIF
I applied for my UIF on the 3rd of July 2014 and i'm still struggling to claim my Uif. Its more than 3 months now. When i try to register on ufiling they cant locate any work history attached to my ID number. When I phone the Labour department they tell me its being audited because the company didn't pay UIF. When the company phoned they said it was up to date. What the hell is going on. People are with out work and those who want to work can't find work so how must we provide if even the things that's suppose to help make it a bit better is taking so long.

No Payment for UIF
I claimed my UIF on the 9th of September 2014 , my return date was on the 13th of October, i went to Jane Furse labor office to find out why i was not paid yet. the respond was my application was still on the process i should come back on the 10th of November 2014. When i asked further why is it taking long , i was told they have too-much work lode .
My concern is if the UIF was mean to relieve the unemployed citizen, Why is it taking long to materialize . we would like to use our money to gain new employment . This is the money we worked for , yet we are still working over time to get it .

no payment
My name is Kebawetse Leah Montsho I submitted my maternity UIF papers on the 2nd September in Runburg. I was told I will receive the payment in between 4-6 weeks. It has now past 6 weeks and I am still waiting for my payment. I have contacted the department of labour in Runburg where I have submitted my papers and I was put through to a supervisor named Robert who did not bother to listen to my enquiry and he just decided to put me through to someone else who did not answer my phone call. I have tried again numerous times to contact them to enquire about my payment but their office number is forever not going through. I am sick and tired of calling a number that is not going through I need someone to call me back immediately to tell what is going on, my number is 0844381282.

MATERNITY BENEFIT
i startred applying for my maternity benefit in November, i had to go up and down and get my papers filled in the correct manner a couple times, until my documents were finally correct and taken in February,my payment was that suppose to go through in May which did not happen as my bank account was closed due to no money going into the account, i than had to go back to the bank get a new statement as well as complete another U.I 2.8 which i did a month later i phoned again to find out what was going on as still no payment was received, they had not captured any of my new details on the system and my paper work was lost somehow,i than had to go back again with new proof of banking and another U.I 2.8 this was done in August, since than every 2 weeks ive been calling to find out whats happening with the uif maternity claim but everyone i speak just says that the payment has been reserved. now i want to know how much longer must i wait, are they even doing work because the system with regards to my info is not been updated i mean if it was i would have had some kind of feedback but NOTHING ,why do we have to pay for uif but than it is so difficult to get back your own money this is really ridiculous.
I need assistance please as i want my money because it is due unto me.

maternity claim
i took maternity leave in may 2014 and only received payment in august ,there for i was supposed to go back to sign for the next payment on the 12 of September 2014 suprisingly when i went there to sign another company that does not exist declaired me to be employed by it on the 12 September 2014 and the payment was blocked ,
i was told to go to the company that declared me to get a letter stating that i do not work for them i went searching for the place at the address i was given at the department of labour in pretoria the very same day since they had told me it my problem to fix not theirs
i got found out there isnt such a company and i checked online if the company exist only to find out its not even listed anywhere
i went back to the labour department to report back that the company does not exist and i have never heard or worked for .and the landline number they gave me is for Johannesburg but the physical address is in Pretoria that does not make sense and THE FACT THAT THE COMPANY THAT DOES NOT EXIT DECLARES ME WHEN I AM SUPPOSED TO RECEIVE PAYMENT FOR UIF AND WHY WAS THE INFORMATION ABOUT THAT COMPANY ON MY PROFILE NOT PICKED UP BEFORE THE FIRST PAYMENTS????? i filled out a complaint form as i was advised to and have been waiting since then and i have gone back to work the labour department has not contacted me still .HOW LONG AM I GOING TO WAIT ??

Non-payment of UIF benefits
I have made numerous calls, not to mention e-mails, to your customer services department, each time speaking to a different person. I was told that in order to access the document "continuation of payment", I have to install Adobe Reader 10.1 or 11. I have now managed to install the 10.1 version and still cannot access the PDF.
My application is dated 8 July and it is now 8 October – THREE MONTHS LATER. Do I have to personally go to your offices and start all over again? What is the point in applying online and this is the service I get!
Telephone calls and e-mails cost money and being unemployed for nearly 4 months, this is not easy! It would be appreciated if someone – anyone – can respond to my query as a matter of urgency.
Disappointed !!!

UIF claim -
PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP ME! I HAVE SPEND R80 THIS MONTH ON PHONING YOU GUYS AND I AM HAVING NO JOY....I AM SO SAD AND DISSAPOINTED IN THE SERVICE I AM GETTING.............I worked on a contract basis for Sanlam Head office in Bellville from 17th March 2014 this year till Sanlam ended my contract on 31 July 2014. On 17 August 2014 Sanlam faxed through my UI19 form to the UIF. On the 28th of August 2014 I lodged a claim on ufiling. I got an email that my claim was with the assessor. Upon following up I was told my UI-19 form was not received. I was then told by a man called Cash to email it again to [email protected] which I did. Emailed it twice. Then I followed up again on Monday and was again told that my UI19 form is not received. I spoke to Simon. He said I was given the incorrect email adress and had to email the UI19 form to [email protected] which I did. In fact just to make sure I emailed it twice. Got a response that my query would be escalated to the relevent section.
Today I phone and speak to a lady. I asked her how far my claim is...and guess what she say? That my UI19 form is still not there. Then I got very upset and told her it isn't possible as Sanlam faxed it and I have emailed it 4 times now. Then I asked her how long it would take to finalise my claim? She says 35 days. So I got more upset and then she says it is 35 days from the date I lodged the claim. I lodged in on 28 August 2014. My status on ufiling is: Sent to assessor. I was also told by this lady that you guys have a backlog of claims. I now have no more airtime to call you. I worked in a call centre too and I cannot believe the service I am receiving. It is now 29 working days since I submitted my claim online on ufiling. It is more than 35 days in total since I submitted my claim. I don't know what to do anymore....IF THERE IS SOMEONE THERE WHO CARE ABOUT AN UNEMPLOYED PERSON PLEASE HELP ME I BEG...I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ANYMORE. I have never experienced something so traumatizing and upsetting. The people on the phone are cold and feeling less and don't seem to care a bit for the person calling in. Simon was going to escalate this claim and he was the only one really helpful so far, but it seems the lady I phoned today don't even know him. Each time I call I speak to another call centre agent and again told they havent got my UI 19 form....I thought this ufiling system would be trouble free and easy. It has been a nightmare. My daughter's contract for her work has just been ended as well and now we will have to face this nightmare again and I don't know how we are going to cope. Better to go in the offices to submit the claim after all perhaps...Rather long queues than what I have experienced. This is unbelievelable.

Maternity UIF
Hi,
I have applied for my Maternity benefits in May 2014 already, received a payment form to fill in , in August. I faxed it back and still haven't received a cent. I think this is unacceptable, they should not deduct uif from me ever again. I made loans to cover my monthly payments. And now I have to pay this off on my own

UIF Payment
I was retrenched on the 1st July 2014. I applied via ufiling on the 22nd July for benefits. The next day a Mr Seakge Phasha saying they needed proof that I contributed to the fund from 2010 thru to 2012. I Gave him the companies number and who to speak to. In the mean time, I sent copies of my IRP5 for those years which clearly state the UIF deductions, but this wasn't what they were looking for. The company provided all the requested information from the payroll package on the 15th August 2014. I followed this up by sending Mr Phasha duplicate copies of what the company sent.
On the 1st September, there was no payment made, I sent Mr Phasha an e-mail [email protected] requesting if this was the correct information, but he didn't reply to ny mail.
Through the month I tried several times to load a continuation of payment form, but for some reason, I am unable to load this form. On the 29th September, I Emailed Mr Phasha again saying I hadnt heared any response from him. This time he was very prompt in phoning me back. First he said he hadn't reeceived the companies on my email with the data, then he said the data wasn't in a format that they could use. He then sent me an excel spreadsheet that that the company had to fill out. When I queried about my lack of payment and the fact that I have no money at all, he assured me that some sort of payment would be made on the 1st October.
I emailed the completed document to him this morning and after repeated emails and attempts to phone him to enquire if he had received the information I have had no response. There has been no payment made to date. I am about to be evicted from my residence and have no money for food.
Who must I get on my knees and beg to to get some sort of service?

Dear Department of Labour
My Wife gave in her Paperwork for Maternity leave on the 3 July 2014 and is almost going back to work..!!!She is yet to have received a payment from your Department so the question that is lingering in my mind is this "Do you even know what is expected of you" in that Department or do you even care about the 24.5% of South-Africans that are depentend on that money every month..!I just hope you don't ever stand on the receiving end of this line cause there is NO SERVICE or WISDOM at this institude.!This is utter Bull if there is a court still true to the justice system I will look upon ways to sue you guys for "lake of income","pain and suffering" and "puttiing our ones good debt in a bad light due to your incompetence...!!So I hope you a great sitting and doing absolutley nothing day...!!!

Money outstanding although Ufiling status is Payment done??
I wonder if this forum will be of any assistance, if I look at all the complaints lodged in this department... (I don't see fields here where I can submit my personal details, so I wonder if this forum is only a place where people can vent their feelings?)
My UIF claim was submittted beginning of June 2014, and according to Ufiling approved on the 19th June 2014. On the 17th of June I received an email that read "UIF claim received. Finalization of claim is 35 Days" After which I waited patiently, and received nothing after the 35 days. I started calling in, and was advised that I still need to click "continuation of payment". This was then done on the 30th July, after which I received an email from Mercy Kubedi that I should receive my payment in 5 - 10 working days. I then again waited patiently, and only started phoning in after not receiving anything after 10 working days. I logged in again on my Ufiling account, to notice that my status on the 30th June reads Payment - Done. Obviously not having received anything yet... I then called numerous times, and can never get hold of Mercy Kubedi. Even since she sent me an email on 30 July, she has never again replied to the numerous emails I sent her to explain what the hold-up on my payment is. I eventually got hold of another person who again submitted my claim, and on the 17th of September my status reflected Payment - Done... And I still didn't receive my money?? How is it possible? Is my money going somewhere other than my banking details, which I've checked, and is correct?? Can I please get proper assistance, as this is the worst client service I have ever received in my life!
