We are all excited to see the remake of Roots, but it is Memorial day. Why not show some respect for those who gave their lives for us instead of a cheap promo in the corner of the screen for 4 hours.

H2 was my go to channel. I refuse to watch Viceland. My TV is mostly OFF. I now spend my evenings reading books by people featured on H2.

H2 was my go- to channel. Viceland is a ridiculous replacement for the interesting shows on H2. My TV is staying OFF. I now spend my evenings reading.

H2 was my most watched channel. Please bring it back. We the consumer who pay for tv would like the programming we paid for and contractually signed up for. It's not right you up and change it to vice land.

History Channel is now History

I thought I was alone here thinking Viceland replacing H2 was a criminal act. I'm sure there are some people that like watching that crap but to replace H2 with Viceland is absolutely disgusting. Who's your audience? If you think H2 fans are the same people who would watch Viceland, damn you are mistaken. I watched some of the shows thinking something has to connect on why the change. It's definitely geared to a younger generation. I'm not saying I'm old. If you're looking for age demographics I'm 41 years old. I enjoyed H2. My children enjoyed H2 programs. Nobody in my house is watching Viceland. Not till I read a few other post did I even consider looking at switching services. All the reality television shows are destroying brain cells. Please bring back H2.

I am befuddled that there is a budget for shows like the ones being broadcasted on the VICELAND channel. I tried to watch some of these shows to see if I could possible find some redeemable value and I just cannot. This is J-U-N-K. Absolutely a human mind virus. I cannot believe that you would actually replace a channel with an endless source of interesting subjects, even though, borderline fantastic, with the senseless crap that you are trying to peddle to a generation of people that does not care about anyone/anything else but themselves. Incidentally a note to the program director: the History Channel lineup is total crap. In its current state, this channel is unwatchable.

I am very angry about Ricks Restorations being cancelled on the History Channel. Could not believe it, I read it was about saving money, the cancellation. But of course...never mind what we, the watchers, want to see?
I want you to know my television is rarely off History, I am and always have been quite fond of most reality offerings offered by "History". Especially "Ricks Restorations."
Really I've tried to watch the new version but cannot anymore. Puts me to sleep:>>> frankly people...it's boring. zzzzzz

A true story, a personal anecdote.: my brother visited or tried to visit the Las Vegas reality show sites. "Pawn Stars" not accessible usually, and when it was, was nothing like shown on TV. Rude people...very. On the other hand, the people at Ricks were very pleasant and as gracious and accommodating as possible to the people who walked in.
I know these reality shows are about entertainment and not about 100% reality. Consider this.
Please reconsider your position, get Ricks Restoration back, please..!!. Please.

I am disgusted that H2 was removed in favor of viceland.

H2 used to be my go-to channel as there was almost always something on that was interesting. I don't like to wish bad things on people, but whoever the executive is that decided to go forward with viceland should definitely not be the one making decisions. The stupid reality-crap shows of viceland are un-watchable.

Seriously, H2 was replaced with this crap? Neither did all the "favorite " channels from H2 actually get moved to the History channel. I can't believe I'm having to pay for such stupid programming. Really considering changing my cable package. H2 was one of the best channels left that doesn't have choreographed reality. So totally an unhappy camper.

When I was younger, I remember watching shows about all views of history. I have found a passion about learning history. Shows ranging from Ancient cultural lifestyles to our more recent terms of history. I started to see these shows disappear only to be replaced with seemingly idiotic shows. These shows are mind numbing and having nothing really to do with history. Why be called the history channel, when you show reality and staged television shows.
I found relief in the history 2 channel. I even found faith in the history channel, when they came out with "World at war" and "sons of liberty". I was hoping they would make more of those types of shows. Unfortunately, h2 has been replaced and I gave viceland a chance..not very good in my opinion. The channel is more about informing us about other cultures (which is great), but it seemingly came across bias and very draw to very specific stories. The shows about gay societies, pot smokers, and other odd stories. The channel seems to be run poorly. These shows don't seem horrible, but they don't compare to the historic information given by h2 in the past. H2 and history channel should FOCUS ON HISTORY. I believe history is the study of us; who we are, what are we doing it, and why we live the way we do.
Through history, we can better understand not just ourselves, but our society and the lives of others. Please return H2!

I have read all of the comments, to date, concerning H2 changing to Viceland. i am elated to see so many people feel the same as I do; it is insulting, to say the least.
I have watched History Channel since it first came on the air. I dearly loved The Real West and was very upset when it was taken off after just one year.
Over time, they have made several interesting shows that were enjoyable to watch and it remained my favorite channel for several years.
Then H2 came on, first focusing on international type history and later taking shows from the History Channel to make room for reality type crap. It evolved into the History Channel showing only this reality crap (pawn stars, ice road,truckers, ax men, swamp people and many others ) that is staged. Check out the facts behind how these are made.
H2 was the only place to find anything to do with history. Not all of the programs on H2 were great, but at least most were thought provoking.
Now, H2 is gone and replaced with the most disgusting garbage I have ever seen.
I have read many great comments from others and do not know how to improve on how they have expressed their disgust. There is probably no way to have this garbage removed but if we raise enough hell, who knows?
I am tired of having some Hollywood type try to shove crap down my throat cause I an not swallowing. Pushing these alternative lifestyles on the general public is close, in my book, to being a criminal act. If they want to live that way, so be it, but don't try to tell me that that is the norm and try to push it on me and my family.
I have checked the guide on Dish daily to look at the programming. I have checked the details of every show on Viceland, to see what they were about, and have found each and every show to be sick.
The promise to move shows from H2 to the History Channel was, like other have said, pure lies. My Dish guide shows that any program that remotely is about history is shown from early morning till around noon. Then is is continuous pawn lies, pickers, restoration etc till early morning. These shows are so fake and staged that it baffles me how they stay on.
I could go on and on but frankly, others have said it better than I have.
Bottom line: Viceland sucks and anyone associated with it should take a long walk on a short pier and then someone, with use of 1% of their brain, might find a way to bring the old H2 back

I am a middle aged american. Viceland is repulsive and has nothing for me. Really liked the programming on H2. Disastrous move for A&E...

Not happy about the program change. H2 is / was my favorite channel. From what I see with viceland, it has nothing for me.

There were 3 channels I watched. H2 was the one I watched the most. I come home from work take a shower, eat, then turn on my TV. Swamp people is my only option on the History Channel.
I miss watching Scott Walter find absolutely nothing, or Georgio telling me that the answer is YES, and Brad Metzer getting excited about finding a quarter in his couch.
I am a hard working single woman who watches TV for a few hours a night. I still have the Big Bang Theory, Golden Girls, but I really miss the programming on H2...

Please bring back H2 or at least put some of the programs on the History channel.

This is the most passionate I have ever been about a TV change. Viceland is a slap in the face to everyone that watched and loved H2. It is vile, and that founder , Shane Smith , thinks by using F bombs in his interviews and titles he is somehow too cool for everyone else. Only morons would buy that and have I guess.

I can't believe you removed H2 for the junk on viceland. The shows are useless. I used to watch H2 all the time till you bumble heads took it off for the CRAP CRAP CRAP on viceland. I don't know why you caved in to put on the CRAP you did. Put H2back on so I can enjoy what little tv has to offer. Don't be like the other channels that have CRAP. Grow some B. lls and put H2 back on.

My favorite channel is gone! I basically no longer need cable or satellite and will be cancelling my Direct TV subscription soon. I am a 30 year old millennial and my wife is 26..... we both cannot stand Viceland it is a completely absurd horrible channel! A&E you made a huge mistake and I hope Viceland fails miserably!

Hey , lets take one of the best channels on tv, and replace it with some of the worst junk ever. That is exactly what they did to H2 switching to Viceland. What a load of crap that channel is.

All H2 shows disappeared when Viceland started 2-29-16. The promise of H2 shows going to History Channel is a LIE. It never happened. History still has its boring Swamp People, American Pickers, and Pawn Stars.
Brad Meltzer's Lost History, Ancient Aliens, In Search of Aliens, Hangar1, Haunted History, United Stuff of America, America Unearthed, Investigation Discovery, More 2 History and Life After People are all gone. These are all FAMILY oriented shows that we all enjoyed watching together.
The crap on Viceland should be put around the X rated channels by Playboy, NOT in a family section. Disgusting. So disappointing. What a terrible decision to take away H2.

The LEAST YOU COULD DO is put all the programs you took off onto History Channel as promised. They are NOT showing on History Channel in the West Palm Beach Florida area of the country.

I just downgraded my direct TV plan because of the idiots who decided to take H2 off of the Air! Viceland is the most vile, heinous, excuse of programming that I've ever watched. I'm a "twenty-something male" to which they claim to be gearing this programming toward, and I just don't get it. It's not educational, funny, or entertaining in the least. I hope the company or companies that invested in this lose millions of dollars!!! And I hope the Executives that decided to switch this channel get a permanent "gaycation"!!! There are already too many shows about no talent, low IQ, famous for nothing people on TV(e.g. Keeping up with the Kardashians). #F&@k that's awful TV

H2 was one of my famlies favorite channels, at any given time you could walk in my house and that's the channel that would be playing on my tv! Now it has been replaced with viceland a station I wouldn't watch if I were paid to do so. All you have done is took a great educational and all around AWSOME channel away and replaced it with a channel that would have been been better named CRAPLAND!!! This channel to me is an abomination and serves no educational purpose whatsoever! I am one highly upset viewer as well as my entire family along with my friend's and neighbors and I'm writting this on all there behalves! WE WANT H2 BACK change one of your sales channels to CRAPLAND, and give H2 back it's rightful channel!! If this continues and H2 is not replaced to it's rightful channel your going to loose a lot of business especially were I'm from. I will change satellite companies or do away with my satellite all together and just watch netfilx and YouTube, and many other's in my area are and will do the same thing! What were you people thinking?? Take away an educational channel and replace it with the crap shown on viceland that has no educational value what so ever!!
