Absolutely horrible! Found a hard check on my credit report from CCB/PPC. I never intentionally opened a PayPal Credit account, just thought I had used my usual PayPal to pay for a small item. I'm pretty capable of reading, and at no point do I remember reading anything saying I was opening a PayPal Credit account, or a disclaimer I had to read and check in order to open such an account to pay for my small purchase. Obviously they have specifically coded, programmed and displayed a checkout page to trick people into opening a PayPal Credit account. I called to cancel the account immediately, to be told I still owed the small transaction I apprently made on the account. I was not allowed to use any other credit card or EVEN my regular PayPal account to settle the debt. Only allowed to use my checking account routing number or receive a hard copy bill. Not the kind of information I like to give out. Isn't that the whole purpose of PayPal? Exceedingly poor customer service, border line fraud practices and they have completely lost any and all of my future business, from today to the end of time.

Me too! I simply bought something from eBay, which requires you to use PayPal. Then all of the sudden, I have a credit account opened with PayPal. I didn't want this line credit. But was tricked into it. Very deceptive.

I've already been skeptical of using PayPal every time I buy something through eBay, because they use your bank account as your default payment, and not your credit card. You have less protection this way. But PayPal is required when purchasing off eBay.

Now I have completely lost all trust in eBay and PayPal for such deception. I've made a complaint with BBB and will continue making phone calls to PayPal to get this account remove. Hope others have luck with this.

I did not ask for a pay pal credit card and all of a sudden I used their service and now i have one. this is a issue as I'm trying to buy a house. I'm calling pay pal in the morning to try and fix this mess. Very poor practice on their part.

PayPal run the hard credit inquiry the same day I opened my PayPal account. They claim I applied for a credit line with them, which was declined - I have no recollection of this ever happening not to mention that I haven't received any e-mails about it into the mailbox associated with that application. The call centre supervisor Mary (badge number 1319818) advised me that I must have "inadvertently" selected one of the credit lines during the sign up process. Another PayPal employee, Steve, told me that "it happens very often" because PayPal and PayPalCredit logos look very similar... This is clearly a case of an abusive marketing strategy and this company has no respect for its customers. I am closing my PayPal account today and will never do business with them again.

I have not issued a inquiry for paypal and this morning i showed that CCB/PPC has gone ahead without my permission and issued me a credit inquiry without my knowledge. WOW.... i hope to find out why.

I opened up my credit report this morning and saw that i had a new inquirary that i innitated, but I DID NOT DO THIS. i HOPE TO FIND OUT WHY THERE WAS A HARD COPY INQUIRARY UNDER MY NAME FROM PAY PAL. AS ANYONE ELSE GONE THROUGH THIS?

It makes it look bad on your credit as a hard inquiry and they don't report or allow you to add to credit Karma so it looks like you were denied whether you were or not. I have contacted PayPal and Credit Karma and was told that Paypal won't allow it. Paypal told me that they don't report to credit bureaus then why run my credit as a hard inquiry. That looks bad on me when I was approved and pay on time or early and keep a tiny balance if that. That would make my credit look better. I think it's totally unfair to make a hard inquiry and not report whether you were approved or not. Many people like me are trying to rebuild their credit. For years I had no credit because I paid cash for everything I bought and then decided I wanted to build my credit and I'm finding PayPal Credit is making it worse when it should be making it better.

Paypal has requested a credit file on me without my permission. This was never authorized and I never plan to use paypal credit.
This needs to be removed asap or I will contact my lawyer.

Due to the PAYPAL credit (small letters) I went to check out from my account and seeing PAYPAL I hit the button thinking that I was using my paypal account attached to my business banking. 24hrs later I have hard inquiries on all 3 credit reports.
A box shows up saying I'm denied? For what I just wanted to pay for my goods. I filed out NO information. I just accidently hit the wrong button.

I am positive that this is now happening accidentally by the thousands on a daily basis and thousands are having lowered credit scores because of unclear marketing. I do not have good vision. A large PAYPAL button would indicate Pay with PAYPAL!

I called your center and was told to dispute all 3 bureaus. I don't have time to immediately dispute the bureaus when I am going for a business loan next week. The onus should not be on me anyway. You report it, you can report a mistake. I never filled out or authorized any forms, this is illegal.

I have sent a formal complaint to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the Bureau of Consumer Protection.
The transgressions of complaint are: 1. Misleading marketing, Affecting PAYPAL consumer purchaser's being visually confused and clicking on PAYPAL credit button. 2. Conducting a credit check without my consent

I received a notice that from Trans Union that a request had been made for a Pay Pal account. I never applied for the card. My information was given, as a report was sent to CCB/PPC (which is Comenity Capital Bank c/o Pay Pal Credit.) is I think fraud has been committed and am worried about identity theft..

The letter from Trans Union said,
We regret that we are unable to approve you for the service at this time for the following reason:
"Your information was incomplete or inaccurate o the circumstances may have suggested that the purchase was not made by you."

I have been using PayPall for years, just find out that they requested my credit report without my knowledge and when I ordered something they charged on PayPall credit card, I did not requested any credit card from PayPal.

Paypal is using a switch tactic. I have been a Paypal customer for years and at this point. I thought i could continue to use the service. What has happened to me is, I attempted to make a purchase using their service via the account I have for plane tickets. I had no idea instead of the default credit card that I used they had switched me to a Paypal credit card that i did not need or want. I had no idea this was happening except that I received a notification via equifax. Why would they do this and ruin the reputation and trust that I had in the company.

I have sent them an email since they are closed at this time. I am hoping to rectify this in the morning when I speak with Paypal.

PayPal credit conducted a hard inquiry on my credit without my knowledge. This is a poor business practice and can really harm people; especially if they are reliant on their credit score for the purchase of a home or car. BAD BUSINESS!!!!
