Zoom, Fraud

I will not recommend anyone to use Zoom because they are cheating . I was using 8 cent per Kw all the time. Zoom sale person called me that they only charge 5.99 cents . After I used it a few month , I found the actual charge in 12 cent per Kw . I called them to cancel but they have to pay $500 cost recovery fee.

FRAUD

I received a gas bill triple what I usually get. When I called 70% of it was Xoom charges. When I called to cancel they had the wrong name, our business email is not on file nor is the correct phone number. They won't let me cancel bc I can not verify the fraudulent information but they don't have our Fed Id# no correct info!

Fraud

ACN & Xoom Energy - bait and switch

An ACN rep I know texted me that Xoom had a new plan that would save me money on my electric bill, which averages about $36/month. The flat rate plan was $29.99/month. Thinking it would save me a few $$ a month I said "sure". He would get his commission and I would save about $80 for the year on energy. Imagine my surprise when I opened my power bill and the 29.99 was for delivery and not for the energy. It's a billing charge!!!!. There was also a usage charge from the local utility. ACN and Xoom left out the details, and upon speaking with a Xoom rep and supervisor it's shame on me for not knowing the details and it is my problem. They will not negotiate. I go from $36/month to $50/month. No savings for me. Thankfully my ACN rep if going to pay the cancel fee to Xoom. I'm stuck for the next couple of months paying this bullshit $29.99/month until my local electric utility can get me back on their books. Spread the word -- Xoom Energy will put the screws to you - oh, they offered another fixed rate that was way more than the local utilities are offering.

If you think you will save with ACN or Xoom, Think Again! Call you local utility suppliers and work with them. Do Not Fall For This Scam.

And, yes, I'm reporting them to the PUCO and the Ohio Attorney General.

Wrong bill address

You guys are such useless. Your company and customer service rep made one digit in my billing address. And made me pay next door neighbour bill for 5 months for gas. And i am trying to reach you for this. Noone is taking responsibility. I have email saying correct address from xoom. Never take xoom energy for anything. I am going to say to every person i know about your shitty compnay and mistakes.

Scam - Sent Fake, Mocked Bill

They sent us a mocked billing statement asking for $654.00 under my name and address.I called them and after verification of the "test" billing account number, they stated that this was a mocked bill that they recently deployed out to AGL customers (that they claimed they just had signed contracts with AGL to get to their customers's portal). This test bill doesn't even have any large print on it stating it is a MOCK nor TEST nor a SAMPLE bill to warn people at all. Had someone not paying attention and paid the bill, then I would imagine that they could get quite a hefty load of free-money using this tactic.

Overcharging

Xoom boasts to have the cheapest energy, but they add on all kinds of additional charges. I found out that our neighbor in my duplex (read, a person who lives in the SAME HOUSE) pays one fifth of what I pay. Their bill last month was $40. Mine was almost $200. And they say I have to pay an additional $200 to cancel my contract, even though the prices they promised were hogwash.

XOOM Energy

XOOM USED AGGRESSIVE SCARE TACTICS when they sent me an email threatening to cut off our gas because People's Gas hadn't paid them for delivery. However, we paid People's Gas bill on time, and they had cashed our check. So XOOM was trying to force us to speed up payment from our gas utility to hurry-up their cash flow.

Pressured Sales

Someone came to my daughters college apartment and convinced her he was with her current energy provider, which is not uncommon for them to check things out. She let him in and he pressured and pressured her to sign up. Not knowing what to do and just wanting him to go away she did, then called me upset.

I called to cancel it and the woman on the phone was not accommodating, she was rude and talked down to me. I finally got it cancelled but told them to put a note on the address that no one should visit there anymore. They said they cannot do that, they cannot keep there workers from going to her apartment in the future. Which is just one more pressured manipulative tactic to get sign ups.

You should never trust anyone who has to pressure you in any way. This company is slimy , pure and simple!

Former ACN Rep

I got on here because I'm a former Rep and current customer. ACN's Customer service is horrible. period.

As for the rates, sometimes that rates can are better but the TERMS are typically worse. So you might save in the front end but the 2- yr contracts , ETF's, poor billing, ect add up

To echo the comments below, do your research on price and terms before signing up.

For the folks signing up with Xoom please be aware in most states Xoom is quoting unbundled rates ( this is why they seems sooooo much lower). "Unbundled" essentially means there is still a additional cost (taxes surcharges, delivery act) not reflected in the per kw charge quoted. They normally tell you this only if you ask or so quickly you don't even think twice about it.

The reps aren't bad people just poorly trained/educated on the services they're actually offering.

CHARGES AND DEPOSIT RETURN

The service resulted in additional fees and overall cost increase from local utility service.
I provided a deposit upon opening the account and the company has sent numerous bills with
late charges and excess fees after I formally requested the deposit be used for the final billing.(balance)
The service was discontinued as of 11/30/2016 and the deposit has not been returned.
I would recommend not subscribing to this service.
The company is the worst!

Didn't Get What I Signed Up for with Xoom

I signed up to electric at the suggestion of a friend. This was the worst mistake I have ever made. My electric bill never went down in compared to my old electric company. I'm loosing an average of 28.00 dollars a month. My highest has bee 108.00 dollars more; in compared to my last year bill.

Also, Xoom's website (xoomenergy.com) does not show any history of your previous electric bills. The do not show a copy of the contract you signed and the rate you signed up for. The sure show in just about every section you click on "Pay Your Bill". But, to look for contract information, rate, duration, etc., you do not find them.

It's 24-48 hours turnaround in your questions. I don't think they have anybody answering calls or monitoring the website for questions from consumers.

My next stop is BBB!

Tricked me into contract

Read online reviews before you deal with Xoom energy. They have a lot of unhappy and deceived customers. They will mislead you to get you into contract. Their rates are higher no matter what they say. I was trying to cancel my service when I noticed they charge me almost a double. I was told I’m under contract and they will charge $150 Fee for cancelation. I don’t even remember seeing a contract from them not to mention signing one. Beware.

wost conmpany ever cost me thousands

So here's the deal, I was an ACN IBO and switches my services over to xoom back in 2014. I had xoom for a year before I finally got rid of them. In that years time they charged me almost twice the rate of my other local providers and routinely double charged me. in my two bedroom apartment my bill was almost $650 one month, the most it ever was with AEP was $210. so I finally got rid of them and a few months later I got a bill from a collections agency that said I owe xomm over $500. I was never on a budget and I NEVER missed a payment, I was told I over paid so much because of them double charging me that I would have a credit but instead they sent me to collections, I've been trying to fight this for weeks now. They have admitted that they cannot prove that I owe them that money and that they can see where they have double charged me numerous times but have yet to make it right. do yourself a favor and don't listen to all the hype, they are a terrible company with terrible customer service.

my first bill was almost half what I had paid before

I was signed up with Xoom by an ACN rep. in early March of 2016 and after getting my 1st bill from Xoom in April I was happily surprised. The Xoom part of the bill was half as much as I had paid the month before. I have a fixed rate on my gas bill for 6 months and I am looking for similar savings for the rest of the contract. I was told by the ACN rep to never get the variable rate and get only the fix rate and also to find out what my early termination fees were if I had any. The ACN rep told me if my early termination fees were too high not to come with Xoom but stay with the supplier I was with. I am so happy with the savings of almost half the price on my Gas Cost and I will also turn over my electric service to xoom too. I have called and also text customer service and I have gotten a live person in less than 30 seconds and each time they answered my questions politely and respectfully.

The ACN rep. asked to see my old natural gas bill and then even calculated what my cost would have been for that month. All he did was multiply my McF's used by the rate that Xoom would be charging. My old Gas Cost was: (Gas Cost 18 MCF@ 4 = $72.00) Xoom's rate: (Gas Cost 18 MCF@ $1.95 =$35.10). A savings of $36.90 on my Gas Cost. After seeing that I made the change and I am so glad that I made the change and as an added bonus Xoom donates proceeds to our local food banks to feed children and families too! My experience has been better than I thought it would be and I would highly recommend Xoom to everyone.

The Canton ACN rep said that he and the new ACN reps that are joining Xoom in Canton are now doing everything they can to be above board and transparent about the business and to help all customers have a great experience with them and Xoom. He said if you have a great experience with Xoom then you will tell your friends and make it easier for the Canton ACN reps to help more people save lots of money on their gas and electric bills.

ACN. XOOM ENERGY RIPOFF!!!!!

ACN rep told us he could define toy save us money on electric bill. Got first bill and this is not true at all I have never had bills this high Further more they converted multiple accounts to Xoom energy without consent. When I tried to get the service canceled they want to charge me $190 each account. I only wanted to try it with my home and he converted several of my commercial accounts. This is a scam and must be stopped. They will do nothing for us now. IF U ARE THINKING OF JOINING ACN OR XOOM. DONT DO IT. THEY MAKE MONEY FROM U SCREWING OVER YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY. PEOPLE THAT TRUST U. IM CURRENTLY FILING A COMPLAINT WITH THE MARYLAND ATTORNY GENERALS OFFICE AND RECONEND. ANYONE WHOSE HAS HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THEM. YOU ARE NOT ALONE . DO NOT LET THEM GET AWAY WITH STEALING OUR HARD EARNED MONEY.

Same issue here. Being double billed since started with them. Like others I signed up with Xoom Energy trying to help out someone else earn some money. Wish I Never did. Tried to cancel with them a few months ago and I'm sill being charged.

Both Gas company and Xoom energy sent me bill at one time, the total charge even higher than my regular bill. I don't accept that and made phone call to Xoom energy, but they told me onone can guarantee that I will be saved money from switch service. Now I have to pay earlier termination fee to cancel XOOM ENERGY service. This is a fraud!!!! Who ever has the same situation like me . please contact me. I am in southern California. I knew somewhere having class action against those company already, We should do something to stop them keeping lie to people.

XOOM SCAM

I enrolled in XOOM through ACN deceptive lies. They claim to charge a lot less for therm than the utility company. The issue I just discovered is that they charge you for more therms than the utility company does plus the monthly administrative fee; as a result the bill from XOOM is a lot higher than the utility company. They flat out lie about what they charge you. Also their website and customer service is a catastrophe. I was unable to make their expensive payment due to the website not having my bill. Also they call a thousand times and are eager to charge you late fees and you can not pay over the phone. Their BBB A+ rating does not reflect the reality of this company.

double bills

My church somehow got transferred over to Xoom and our electric bill is really high. No one knows how the transfer happened since no one signed off on anything.

Government should get involved to investigate such type of company. No one from the company is serious to help out and keep saying one person's name and we do not know who that is from my church members.

Educate yourself on deregulation 1st

When you acquire a mortgage, do you sign up for a variable rate or fixed rate? FIXED RATE!!! Why, because market conditions change. We as consumers will never know what the price of the commodity (gas or electric) will be in the future. Just like gas from a gas station. When it's $2.50/gallon you wish you locked in that rate before is hit $3.30/gallon.

Their site states all the rates. Go with a fixed rate for sure if you decide to switch suppliers. Do your homework people. Lock in your gas supplier in the summer, and lock in your electric supplier in the winter. Contracts always have a termination fee. Why are you surprised. LOL

Buch of liars, do not sign up!!!

When I signed up I was told that my gas bill was going to be billed together and soo much cheaper,BS!!! I was only payng for my SoCal and assumed Xoom would be paid too. Nope, I was being doubled billed. Now they sent the xoom bill to collection and I refused to pay for it, because I was misinformed. I would never signed up if I knew I was gonna be ripped off. All of you ACN reps should be ashamed of yourself, greedy!
