I have always had these cigs and disgusted to see only 17 in the packet even when I asked for 20 and morrisons never said they are 17s ect plus the price has gone up for less! Won't buy anymore

Rather annoyed to find today that the Sterling Menthol cigarettes I have smoked for over 10 years now come with only 17 in the pack.
Thats the last time I buy this brand until the manufacturer puts back the pack contents to 20.

I am absolutely disgusted and feel totally Ripped Off after buying what I thought was a 20pack containing 19 cigarettes to realise there are only 17 in the packet. This is totally fraudulent on the manufacturers behalf, I thought I had been smoking more than normal in the past 3 days and only today after opening the packet, thought wow that's not full. Tut Tut to the makers I now have to go back to the shop to buy more cigarettes because I am about to run out, But guess what I will not be buy any Sterling cigarettes in the future!!!

Another customer lost. There should be a large sign on the pack stating 17 in a pack so we can make a decision if we would like to buy the pack! will be contacting trading standards

As of today you have lost yet another customer because of underhand tactics. A hundred pack now holds only 85% product but still 100% cost.
Given the volume of complaints and therefore the number of duped customers I think this must be one for trading standards to investigate.

Without advertising the fact, as soon as the packet is unwrapped there is no indication that there are only 17 in the pack. Bad practice. I will be buying cigarettes but none made by your company.

Why is it you feel it's ok to reduce the amount in a pack from 20 to 17 but still charge the same price you don't even advertise the change on the packet and for all other complaints do Stirling even have the deceny to respond

This is ridiculous decision by company. I bought a pack yesterday and went back to shop under the impression that off-license shop is buying from some scam supplier. However it appears that company itself is doing. I often buy outside during my business trips and fill the gaps with Sterling in UK but now it is definitely BIG NO to Sterling.

I have been a dedicated Sterling customer for many years, even sourcing and seeking these out above other brands at duty free opportunities. To say that I am bitterly disappointed in Sterling's decision to reduce the volume per pack with no appropriate price decrease, is an understatement and leaves me contemplating the decision to change my brand.

I have noticed all the comments on the board. I concur with everyone. I did start asking for 34 sterling please (instead of 40). The deception alone is enough to make me stop buying them again

Mugging us off reducing the no of cigarettes in a pack yet the price remains the same. I too have recently notice the drop in cigarettes in a packet, and I too will be changing my brand. However, I am sure that as a company you are aware that this is very profitable for yourselves as at the moment it makes people buy more. (Once people realise that they are being ripped off they too will change brands). But have you viewed your long term sales strategies? With people changing brands, as well as bringing more cigarettes from countries abroad (when on holiday) where their rights and common sense are left to the individual and not being dictated from a cigarette company such as yourselves it seems that our own Human Rights are being violated by you insofar as the freedom to choose . I am wondering if anyone has approached the Trading Standards Authority over this? As this is illegal as there have been no laws passed by Parliament for any cigarette companies to do this. You will also be responsible for the increase of fake cigarettes that will flood into the UK.

Well done Gallagher by reduced the number of cigarettes to 17 in a pack you have just lost another customer. Thought it was bad enough when you reduced them to 19 but now 17 is just plain robbery.

This is getting stupid now, putting the packets of fags down to 19 fags and then 18 without lowering the price fair enough bit now 17 in a pack and there still the same price this is getting ridiculous talk about mugging people off DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS ASAP

I am now lobbying for your company to either put the amount back to 19 or legal action will be taken for false advertising well actually no warning was given yet you dare to hold the same price you did when there was 20. Either you lower the price to reflect the change in numbers or legal action will be taken!!
