sadly, i'm sitting on two more boxes, but those will be the last ever! total rip-off. btw - no more 'number per pack' on the packaging. of course we notice, and are even more pissed off!!!

The fact you only now get 18 cigarettes in a pack, when they took it down to 19 bit of a joke but could pass it through but now 18 Is a absolute rip off!! They will lose so many customers because of this! And the fact I had to pay extra money for yours taking 2 extra cigarettes out my pack! Absolute rip off

ive been buying sterling for quite some time now! And realised there is only 18 in the box rather than 19

The post below is of Wikipedia site. This was updated last 07/2007. I can't see why they are ripping us off? They make another of the old 20 packs. Just look below what one share holder received for the year 2007. I'd hate to think what this year would be.

Why am I being misold 20 fags...... I ask for 20 I'm being sold them and never told that they are not 20!!!!!!! If I was to buy 20 pot plants and got home to find I'd been done by only given 18 you would be furious. This has got to be against trading standards

Only 18 cigs in a pack! Yet price is same and I can grantee the price will rise soon aswell.. your makin enough money so why keep doin this to people? Bought what I thought was 60 Sterling Menthol Superkings from my local Tesco & I was horrified to find that each pack held only 18 of the 20 cigarettes I had paid for!!! No warning on the packet & no warning from the staff member in Tesco either!

How has it not been advertised that there are now only 18 cigarettes in latest packets.?

Hello I like fresh taste cigs but I find the cherry always falls out evrey time sometimes 1/4 of a fag. Also one stoped in a car n burnt the seat.

I sent a email about 3 weeks a go to sterling about putting less cigarettes in 20 pack's but thay couldn't be bothered to reply think its totally discussing that thay now only put 18 in so now if you buy 200 you only get 180 a lot of people including me are struggling with money. . At the end of the day it's yourselfs that got us addicted to smoking now your just like rest of business in this country rip off Britain. . Not happy smoker

why is it that we only have 18 now in a packet yet you keep putting up the price and we are getting less of our product. for more money. No wonder there is so much crime in the world business conning people all the time

I am absolutely disgusted with my findings this morning. I bought my usual pack of sterling, having stayed a loyal customer since the change from 20 to 19. As I rested with my morning lucozade in the sun with my work colleagues I was outraged when I realised that sterling have yet again reduced their pack sizes to 18!!! When will this robbery stop sterling? I shall be changing brand for the forcible future until you get your act together and realise you have created a moral outrage with your consumer!

I have been smoking sterling for years and was disgusted when I realised that the 20 packets only contained 19 and was just dealing with this sharaad but now I open a packet for the same price and it's down to 18, they going to be 17 in a few month then down to 16 ? Just remember this you need your customers not the other way about, I went to sterling because they were the best cigarette for the best price but now I don't think so and how is this only in the UK this is happening? I got 200 brought back from abroad and yes there was 200 in it and was a lot cheaper than UK prices totally shocked at this and disgusted, you people really need to start using your heads and stop being so stupid as putting the price up and less cigarettes won't make you money as a lot of people will go else where so in reality your going to lose out, if you put the cigarettes back to 20 at a cheaper price than the rest I gaurentee you that with in 1 year you will be the number 1 cigarette in the UK maybe even Europe think of the bigger picture and not just try to get a quick pocket liner over and out extremely unhappy ex customer.

Today i found myself buying what i thought was '20' sterling blue superkings as the shop ran out of king size only to find there was ONLY 18 in the packet, i counted them as the cigarettes felt loose in the packet, can the company change the product/quantity without notification to the purchaser? Humm i feel a watch dog email coming, total disgrace.

Disgusting and totally underhand. Have been buying these for years. I realised when they went down to 19 and the staff in tescos informed me of this. I still used to ask for a 200 pack knowing there were less. To open a packet today and I thought the packet feels a bit squashy so counted the cigarettes and thought bloody cheats. Gonna change to either a cheaper brand or they are now turning an honest person into looking for another supplier who may not be. For info: two years ago I purchased a packet of British made cigarettes in the Ukraine and they cost 38 pence so the rest must be tax. Government should be ashamed as they got me smoking which is an addiction in 1965 when I joined the Royal Navy and Royal Navy cigarettes were eight shillings and four pence for 300 which we were allowed every month and then duty free ones once we went to see. Maybe I should prosecute the government and make a claim for compensation as they started me off on this habit which at 67 I am not going to give up.

How crafty sterling cigarettes were at dropping the packs from 19 to 18 cigarettes keeping the same price. The number of cigarettes are not printed on the packet but on the wrapper.
